漫画检讨书'走红网络

A group of hand-drawn comics designed by students from Nanjing Forestry University went viral on Chinese social media. 

近日，南京林业大学学生设计的一组手绘漫画在国内社交媒体上走红。

Instead of being just for fun, they are serving as repentance letters.

这些漫画不是为了好玩，而是检讨书。

At the beginning of the semester, Li Yong, an instructor at the university, set this special rule for his students - if they make mistakes, they can choose to write or draw a repentance letter. 

本学期伊始，该校辅导员李雍给他的学生立下了这条特殊的规矩——如果他们犯了错，可选择写或画一封检讨书。

"Almost all of them chose the latter," he said, "I hope to enhance the value of the repentance letter in an interesting way, so that it can be more acceptable to the post-1995 generation students." 

李雍说，几乎所有学生都选择了后者。他希望通过一种有趣的方法来提升检讨书的价值，使其能更好地被95后的学生接受。

Dong Bo, director of the Student Office at the university, said it's an innovative education method, and the university strongly supports Li's idea.

"Students show the thought process and reasons behind their absence or tardiness in the comics.

他还称，学生在漫画中表现出他们对迟到或旷课的思考过程，表明了犯错原因。

It indicates that this way can make them express what they're thinking and truly realize their mistakes," he added.

这说明这种方法可以让他们表达自己的想法并真正意识到自己的错误。

Uber drivers face claims

A new investigation found that 103 Uber drivers have been accused of sexual assault or abuse in the past four years in the US. 

一项最新调查发现，过去4年中，全美有103名优步司机被控涉嫌性侵或性虐。

Of the 103 drivers, at least 31 have been charged with either rape, forcible touching or false imprisonment. 

在这103名司机中至少有31人已因强奸、强行非礼或非法拘禁的罪名受到了起诉。

Valued at $70 billion, Uber is the most valuable privately held startup in the world, and it operates around 15 million rides per day in 630 cities worldwide.

Analog clocks will be removed from exam halls and replaced with digital ones because teenagers are unable to tell the time, claim head teachers.

Digital devices will be installed in exam halls because GCSE and A-level students complained that they were unable to read the correct time.

The current generation isn't as good at reading the traditional clock face as the older generation.

Although many teachers in the UK want to encourage children to read clocks they can also see the benefit of digital ones when it comes to exams.

It has been proposed in a bid to stop people from putting their hands up during an exam to ask the time.

200 hours to be friends

A University of Kansas professor has defined the amount of time necessary to make a friend and how long it typically takes to move through different stages of friendship. 

近日，美国堪萨斯大学的一位教授定义了交友所需的必要时间，以及发展至友谊不同阶段通常所需的时间长度。

In a new paper published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, Professor Jeffrey Hall found that it takes roughly 50 hours of time together to move from mere acquaintance to casual friend, 90 hours to go from that stage to simple "friend" status, and more than 200 hours to become "good friends". 

在《社会与人际关系杂志》最新发表的论文中，杰弗理·霍尔教授发现，两位点头之交成为一般朋友需要相处约50个小时，变成真正意义上的朋友需要90小时，成为好友则需要超过200小时。

This means time spent hanging out, joking around, playing video games and the like. Hours spent working together just don't count as much. 

这里指的时间是花在诸如一起外出、开玩笑、玩视频游戏等活动上的时间，一起工作的时间不算。

"The amount of time and the type of activity shared with a partner can be thought of as strategic investments towards long-term belongingness needs," wrote Hall.

霍尔写道，"与伙伴一起度过的时间和与之共同进行的活动类型，都可视作对长期归属感需要的战略投资。"
