一、形容词、副词比较级和最高级的构成规则

一）规则变化

1、一般直接加er或est； clever—cleverer—cleverest

2、以一个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节词，先双写，再加er或est；hot—hotter—hottest

3、以“辅音+y”结尾的词，将y变为i，再加er或est； heavy—heavier—heaviest

4、多音节和部分双音节词，前面加more或most； convincing—moreconvincing—most convincing

二）不规则变化

1、old —older/elder —oldest/eldest  older/oldest 指年龄、新旧，较老（旧）/最老（旧）；elder/eldest 指血缘，较为年长的/最为年长的

2、far—farther/further—fathest/furthest

3、good (好的)/well（健康的）— better —best

4、bad(ly)/ill—worse—worst

5、many/much —more—most 

6、little (少)—less—least

二、形容词、副词比较等级的用法

一）形容词、副词平级的用法

1 “as+形容词/副词原级+as…”表示“和……一样……”This tree is as tall as that one这棵树和那棵树一样高。

2 “not as/so+形容词/副词原级+as…”表示“……不如……”Dad does not smoke so heavily as he used to爸爸抽烟不像过去那么多了。

3 as+形容词原级+as+数量词=数量词+形容词The river is as wide as well 1000 meters=The river is 1000 meters wide这条河有1000米宽

二）形容词、副词比较级的用法

1、“形容词、副词的比较级+than+比较对象”表示“比……更……”He runs faster than his brother他比他弟弟跑得快。

2、“the+比较级，the+比较级”表示“越……，就越……”The more you eat thefatter you’re will become你吃的越多，就变得越胖。

3、“比较级+and+比较级”表示“越来越……” The new city is becoming more and more beautiful这座新城市变得越来越美丽了。

4、“the+比较级+of the two”表示“两者中较……的”He is the taller ofthe two boys他是两个男孩中最高的。

三）形容词、副词最高级的用法

1 “（the+）最高级（+比较范围）”表示……是（……中）最……之一He is the tallest boyin his class他是班里个子最高的男孩。再比如，I like Chinese best我喜欢中文。

2 “one of+the+最高级+复数名词+比较范围表示“……是……中最……之一” Hong Kong is one of the most beautiful cities in China香港是中国最美丽的城市之一。Cities在这里是复数，一定要在拼写的时候注意噢

3 “否定词+比较级”表示最高级含义You cannot be more careful你再仔细也不为过。这个句子你可不能直接翻译为你不能够更仔细，直译是不对的，这样的句子尤其需要特殊记忆

四）形容词、副词比较级和最高级的修饰词

1 比较级修饰语，Much,rather, far, even, still, a bit, a little, a lot, a great deal, twice等

He works even harder than before她比以前学习更努力了。

2 最高级修饰语，Second,third, much , almost, nearly, by far, nothing like等

This is much the most important这是最重要的。

三、表示倍数的句型

1、倍数+as+形容词/副词原级+as… These tree is tree times as tall as that one这棵树是那棵树的三倍高。

2、倍数+比较级+than… This river is almost twice longer than that one这条河差不多比那条河长两倍。

3、倍数+the size/length/height/depth…+of…The newly built square is four times the size of the old one新建的广场是老广场的四倍大，这一类句子就相当于带上了单位，强调比较对象的性质

4、The+名词+be+倍数+what引导的从句The output of this year is twice what it was last year今年的产量是去年的两倍。

5、The+名词+be+倍数+that/those of… The output of this is twice that of last year今年的产量是去年产量的两倍。这个句子中的that和上一个句子中的what it was是一个意思哈
