Part Ⅳ Translation (30 minutes)
Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to translate a passage from Chinese into English. You should write your answer on Answer Sheet 2.
①越来越多的中国人现在的确离不开手机了。②他们中的许多人，包括老年人，都使用手机应用程序（apps）保持联系并拓宽朋友圈。③他们也用手机购物、查找信息，因为手机便于携带。④此外，使用手机应用程序通信比传统电话便宜。⑤然而，这种新趋势导致人们在社交时过度依赖手机。⑥事实上，一些年轻人己经变得十分上瘾，以至于忽视了与家人和朋友面对面的交流。
分析:
1.（）括号部分是汉语句子的主语，谓语部分，相信同学们能够正确辨认。
2找出汉语句子的主谓成分不意味着英语翻译句子就这样机械的简单对应处理。有时，有些句子可以这样对应处理。
3.事实上，由于英汉表达的习惯差异，汉语重“意合”，以意驭形，句子结构松散，喜欢用主动结构。顺序，时间是体现逻辑关系的重要手段。而汉翻英的关键在于“化”，吃透汉语原文整体及短句“内在”，“隐藏”逻辑关系之后，用英语习惯来翻译。
4.英语表达注重“形合”，以形显意，句子结构严谨。所以翻译成英语时，要培养能够找出英语主干结构的能力，熟练使用简单句，并列句，复合句来化意为形。通过词汇语法的显性衔接。把松散汉语短文转化成逻辑紧凑，但缺乏弹性的语篇整体。 注意（）括号部分英语译文与汉语原文有何异同？没有标记的部分，自己用心对比体会。

⑥事实上，。。。（一些年轻人）（上瘾）。。。，以至于。。。。看到“以至于，so…… that, so that”常常引导结果状语从句。
