强调手段阶段总结 

关于英语强调手段的两句话：

a）Emphasis comes in many varieties.

英语中强调手段形式多样。

b）The aim is to use the language efficiently to accentuate what is being said.

其目的就是为了高效使用语言，着重突出核心要义。

大分类：口头语和书面语。

1) 语音语调

How did you manage to do that?

How did you manage to do that?

你究竟是怎么才做成那件事的？

How did you manage to do that?

你？是你做成的？怎么做到的？

How did you manage to do that? 

那件事情你都能做成？怎么做的？

2) 印刷／书写手段

新三第1课A Puma At Large：

The experts were now fully convinced that the animal was a puma.

专家们如今已经完全肯定那只动物就是美洲狮。

3) 词汇手段

第二课Thirteen Equals One《夜半钟声》：

‘Whatever are you doing up here, Bill?’ asked the vicar in surprise.

“你究竟在上面干什么，比尔？”牧师惊讶地问。

扩展：whenever, however, wherever, whoever, whomever, whosever, whichever

4) 语法手段

第二课：

‘You certainly did give me a surprise!’ said the vicar.

“你确实使我大吃一惊”，牧师说。

a.You gave me a surprise! ️（看在感叹号的面子上给它一道闪电）

b.You certainly gave me a surprise!  ️️️

c.You certainly did give me a surprise! ️️️️️️

战斗指数一目了然。

5) 句法手段

第五课The Facts《较真儿那些事儿》：

Not only had the poor man been arrested, but he had been sent to prison as well.

那个可怜的记者不仅被捕了，而且还被送进了监狱。

6) 修辞手段

Litotes 曲言法

一、通过使用否定＋负面词来表达强势肯定。

1. She’s not bad looking. 

 a.字面理解：“她不是一个难看的人”。

b.曲言法理解：She is gorgeous. 她长得超级好看。

2. She’s not bad looking at all. 她长得超美。

否得不温不火，得到的肯定效果就一般般；

否得彻彻底底，就得到强势肯定的效果了。

3. He was did not hesitate (at all) to accept the invitation.

他立刻就接受了邀请。

= He immediately accepted the invitation.

在第七课课文中，也先后出现了2处曲言法，我们一起来看一下原句：

Cats never fail to fascinate human beings.

fail to：没能够做成某事

never：强势的否定词

=Cats always / forever fascinate human beings.

猫总是能引起人们的极大兴趣。

课后挑战 

1）你总是让我惊喜连连。

2）我们决不辜负父母对我们的期望。

3）我总是言出必行。

课文中出现的第二处曲言：

There are no shortage of tall buildings. 那里根本不缺高楼大厦。

shortage：缺乏，不足，不够

=There are lots of tall buildings.

扩展举例：

1.Clark Kent is no ordinary man. (Actually, he is the Superman!)

 Clark Kent可不是什么普通人。

2.Harry Potter is no ordinary boy.(Actually, he is a Wizard!)

哈利波特可不是什么寻常男孩儿。

3.She is no fool! (Actually, she is very intelligent!)

她可不是傻子！

4.This is no laughing matter.

(Actually, this is a very serious matter and should be taken seriously.)

这可不是闹着玩儿的！

构建公式1：否定词（越狠越好）＋负面词汇＝强势肯定／正面含义

二. 减弱言语的攻击性和尖锐性

1. He isn't the cleanest person I know. 我认识的人里头，他算不上最爱干净的。

= He is a messy person.

2. Well, he is no Einstein, but given the circumstances, he is the best choice that we have.= He is not very clever

他算不上有多聪明, 但是基于现状，他是我们最好的的选择了。

3. I am no Hermione Granger, but I have my own strengths.

我虽然成绩没有赫敏那么好（实际上，可能被甩出好几十条街），但是我有我的优点。

4. I am no millionaire, but I am willing to give you the best that I can.

虽然我不是百万富翁，但是我愿竭尽所能给你最好的。

5. I am no saint. I make mistakes. 

我不是圣人，我会犯错。

对人家委婉的否定叫做客气，对自己委婉的否定，往往就是不要脸。

构建公式2：否定词＋正面词汇(最高级别) ＝委婉的否定／软绵绵的否定
