1.unrealistic  a. 不切实际的、不真实的

Most of us have formed an unrealistic picture of life on a desert island.

2.picture 

n. 想法、知道、描绘、描述、印象、记忆

An idea of how something or someone looks, of what something is like.

1) 知道、印象

I have a mental picture of what he looks like.我脑海中大致有数，他长什么样儿。

“有数”—> have some idea

I don’t yet have a full picture of what’s going on. 我对正在发生的事情心里没数。

sb. has a full picture of sth.—> “掌控全局、心中有数”

picture—> understanding, “领悟、理解”。

After your explanation, I have a better/clearer picture of what to expect.

3.paradise 

We sometimes imagine a desert island to be a sort of paradise where the sun always shines. Life there is simple and good.

4.ripe

5.Robinson Crusoe 

The other side of the picture is quite the opposite. Life on a desert island is wretched. You either starve to death or live like Robinson Crusoe, waiting for a boat which never comes.
