It's just a wonderful time of year. Isn't it? I love the tree and all the sparkly lights and the decorations and all the yummy food and the rustling and the giving and receiving of gifts.

这是一年中最美妙的时刻，不是吗？我爱圣诞树，喜欢所有闪闪发亮的灯光和装饰品，所有美味的食物，沙沙作响的声音，赠送和接受礼物。

And tonight's bedtime story is about a very special Christmas gift. Would you like to hear about it? Great!

This story is called Merry Christmas Blue Kangaroo by Emma Chichester Clark. Blue Kangaroo belonged to Lily. He was her very own Kangaroo and it was his first Christmas.

这个故事叫《圣诞快乐，蓝袋鼠》，作者是艾玛·奇切斯特·克拉克。蓝色袋鼠是属于莉莉的。他是她的专属袋鼠，这是他的第一个圣诞节。

“Look!” whispered Lily, “it's snowing just for you Blue Kangaroo.” Lily made her own Christmas cards. She drew robins and holly and she stuck stars on them.

“看！”莉莉低声说，“这雪是为你下的，蓝袋鼠。” 莉莉制作了她自己的圣诞卡。她画了知更鸟和冬青，还贴上了星星。

“I’ve made one for everyone.” she said. “And one just for you Blue Kangaroo.”

“Just for me?” thought Blue Kangaroo. “I wish I could make one for Lily.”

“专门为我做的？”蓝袋鼠想。“我希望我可以做一张给莉莉。”

The next day, Lily and her mother made Christmas decorations. They cut up colored paper and stuck it with glue. “It's going to be so pretty.” cried Lily. “And it's just for you Blue Kangaroo and for you.” said her mother.

第二天，莉莉给她妈妈做了圣诞装饰品。她们把彩色的纸剪开，用胶水粘起来。“这会多漂亮啊。”莉莉喊道。“而且这是为蓝袋鼠和你准备的。”莉莉的妈妈说。

In the afternoon, Uncle George and Lily's father brought home the Christmas tree. “It's Blue Kangaroo's first Christmas, Uncle George.”

下午，乔治叔叔和莉莉的爸爸把圣诞树带回家。“这是蓝袋鼠的第一个圣诞节，乔治叔叔。”

“Well then.” said Uncle George, “Here’s a tree just for you, Blue Kangaroo.”

“接下来。”乔治叔叔说，“这棵树是专门给你的，蓝袋鼠。” 

“Just for me.” Thought Blue Kangaroo,” what will I do with a tree?” Just for you, Blue Kangaroo.

“专门给我的？”蓝袋鼠想，“我要一棵树干吗？”专门为你准备的，蓝袋鼠。

The next day, Lily and her mother wrapped up presents. “I hope you're not looking because this one's just for you Blue Kangaroo.” said Lily. Lily helped put the presents under the tree.

第二天，莉莉和她妈妈把礼物包好。“我希望你不要偷看，蓝袋鼠，因为这个是专门给你的。”莉莉说。莉莉帮忙把礼物放到树下。

“Just for me.” thought Blue Kangaroo, “I wish I had one for Lily.”

“专门给我的？”蓝袋鼠想，“我希望也能送莉莉一样礼物。”

Later on, Aunt Jemima and Aunt Florence came. Aunt Jemima brought mince pies and Aunt Florence brought gingerbread men. “One for you, Lily and one for your little brother and this one is just for you, Blue Kangaroo.” said Aunt Florence.

不一会儿，杰迈玛姑妈和弗洛伦斯姑妈来了。杰迈玛姨妈带来了肉馅饼，弗洛伦斯姨妈带来了姜饼人。佛罗伦萨姨妈说：“一个给你，莉莉，一个给你弟弟，还有一个是专门给你的，蓝袋鼠。”

“Just for me?” thought Blue Kangaro, “It's just like me.”

“专门给我的？”蓝袋鼠想，“它长得和我一样。”

Lily's grandparents arrived in the evening. “It's Blue Kangaroo’ s first Christmas.” said Lily. Everyone sang carols around the tree and then Lily sang one all by herself.

莉莉的祖父母在傍晚时分到了。“这是蓝袋鼠的第一个圣诞节。”莉莉说。大家围着圣诞树唱起颂歌，然后莉莉单独为大家唱了一首。

Just for you, Blue Kangaroo. “Just for me,” thought Blue Kangaroo. “I wish I could sing for Lily.” 

专门为你唱的，蓝袋鼠。“专门为我唱的？”蓝袋鼠想，“我希望我可以为莉莉唱歌。”

Before bed, Lily hung up her stocking. “Do you think father Christmas will come?” she asked. “He’ll come when you're fast asleep.” Said her mother.

睡觉前，莉莉挂上了她的袜子。“你认为圣诞老人会来吗？”她问。“他会在你快睡着的时候来。”她妈妈说。

“Good night Blue Kangaroo. ” Whispered Lily and she closed her eyes tight. But Blue Kangaroo lay wide-eyed through the night. Suddenly, there was a funny noise. Blue Kangaroo's whiskers bristled. His ears tingled. Is it Father Christmas? He wondered.

“晚安，蓝袋鼠。”莉莉轻声说。然后她闭上了双眼。但蓝袋鼠却睁大眼睛躺了一整夜。突然，传来一个有趣的声音。蓝袋鼠的胡须竖起来了，他的耳朵感到刺痛。难道是圣诞老人吗？他心想。

A big yellow moon was shining through the house and everything was quiet. Then he heard it again. It must be Father Christmas. Thought Blue Kangaroo.

一轮黄色圆月照亮了整个房子，万籁寂静。然后他又听到了那个声音。一定是圣诞老人。蓝袋鼠想。

Perhaps he can help me. Blue Kangaroo waited, the noises got louder then crashing and bump. “Father Christmas,” he whispered.

也许他能帮助我。蓝袋鼠等待着，这个声音越来越大，然后是碰撞和撞击的声音。“圣诞老人。”他低声说。

“What can I do for you? Little Blue Kangaroo.” Asked Father Christmas.

“我能为你做什么？小小的蓝袋鼠。”圣诞老人问道。

“Well.” Lily says, “Everything is just for me but I want something just for her and I haven't got anything. ” said Blue Kangaroo sadly.

“嗯......”莉莉说，“所有东西都是为我准备的，但是我想为她准备一些东西，可我什么都没有。”蓝袋鼠伤心地说。

“Has she been good? ” Asked Father Christmas.

“她表现好吗？”圣诞老人问道。

“ Oh, yes! ” Said Blue Kangaroo. “ Then you might just find something in my sack. ” said Father Christmas. “Have a look!”

“是的！”蓝袋鼠说。“那你应该能在我的口袋里找到一些东西。”圣诞老人说，“你到我口袋看看吧。”

Blue Kangaroo looked and he found something just exactly right. Father Christmas wrote a label for Blue Kangaroo so that he could hang his present on the tree. Then they had some milk and cookies.

蓝袋鼠看了看，他发现了一个非常合适的东西。圣诞老人给蓝袋鼠写了一个标签，这样他就可以把礼物挂在树上了。然后他们喝了一些牛奶，吃了一些饼干。

 “Good night, Blue Kangaroo.” said Father Christmas. “Lily is a lucky girl to have such a good kangaroo as you.”

“晚安，蓝袋鼠。”圣诞老人说，“莉莉是个幸运的女孩，有你这样一只好袋鼠。”

In the morning, Lily ran downstairs with Blue Kangaroo. She found that there were three stockings hanging on the mantelpiece.

早上，莉莉带着蓝袋鼠一起跑下楼。她发现壁炉架上挂着三只袜子。

“Look!” Said lily, “It says just for you my good friend Blue Kangaroo from Father Christmas. How did that happen?” She asked.

“看！”莉莉说，“这上面写着，亲爱的蓝袋鼠朋友，这是圣诞老人专门为你准备的。怎么会这样呢？”她问道。

Then Lily noticed something else. “ Look! ” she said, “A little blue heart on the Christmas tree that wasn't there yesterday. Who can it be for?”

然后，莉莉注意到了别的东西。“看！”她说，“圣诞树上有一个小蓝心，昨天还没有呢。这是给谁的呢？”

The little blue heart had a ribbon with a tiny Christmas card tied onto it. Lily read the message out loud. It said just for you Lily with love from Blue Kangaroo.

小蓝心上有一条丝带，上面系着一张小小的圣诞卡。莉莉大声读出了贺卡上的信息。上面写着，这是爱你的蓝袋鼠专门为你准备的。

 “Oh, Blue Kangaroo.” Whispered Lily hugging him tight, “Just for me from you.”

“哦，蓝袋鼠。”莉莉紧紧拥抱着他低声说，“这是你专门送给我的。”

“Yes!” Thought Blue Kangaroo happily, “Just for you, Lily. Merry Christmas!”

“是的！”。袋鼠高兴地心想，“专门送给你的，莉莉。圣诞快乐！”

That story was called Merry Christmas Blue Kangaroo. I felt really happy when Lily got her present from Blue Kangaroo. Did you?
