【第25期】如何叫醒起床气大的宝宝们

L: And I’m Luke. Malik and I are here today with a great lesson for you.

M: Yes. 今天我们要讲的内容是怎样叫床。哈哈你们是不是开始污了是不是开始污啦～我们今天是要教大家怎样叫别人起床。Alright, let’s get started!

Dialogue

A: Oh Jeez! Still sleeping on your stomach? Time to get up, dude.

B: Please… let me sleep a bit longer. I didn’t sleep well last night!

A: No way. I remember you hitting the sack quite early.

B: Yeah, I went to bed early. But I was also on my phone pretty late.

A: Come on, rise and shine beach boy!

B: Alright, alright, I see. I can barely keep my eyes open. You are one of the two things that I hate the most in my life.

A: What? Who is the other one though?

B: My alarm clock. (Cough) Listen, my mum told me to follow my dreams. So… I have to sleep to dream longer.

B：拜托……让我再睡会儿吧。我昨晚没睡好！

A：不可能。我记得你很早就上床睡觉了。

B：是很早。但是我玩手机到很晚才睡。

B：好啦好啦，我知道了。我都几乎睁不开眼睛。你是世界上我最恨的两样东西之一。

A：啥？那另一样是什么？

B：我的闹钟。（咳）听着，妈妈告诉我要追寻梦想。所以……我必须靠睡觉去多做会儿梦。

【讲解部分】

好了欢迎回到我们的讲解部分。这个对话真的是太夸张了。其实我是一个early bird，爱早起的人，不是很懒的人。

A: Oh Jeez! Still sleeping on your stomach? Time to get up, dude.

B: Please… let me sleep a bit longer. I didn’t sleep well last night!

Notes:

(1) Jeez 天呐

Jeez是Jesus的简称，表示惊叹。也相当于Jesus Christ / OMG, oh my god等感叹词。

(2) sleep on your stomach 趴着睡

sleep on one’s stomach不是睡在某人肚子上，而是趴着睡。

补充：侧着睡sleep one’s side；仰着睡sleep on one's back.

(3)sleep a bit longer 再多睡一会儿

睡懒觉也可以是sleep in。

Tips: sleep in是美式英语的说法，英式英语中是lie in。两者都是可以的。

(4)sleep well 睡得好

所以睡得不好就是过去式的didn’t sleep well

A: No way. I remember you hitting the sack quite early.

B: Yeah, I went to bed early. But I was also on my phone pretty late.

Notes:

(1)No way. 没门！不可能！

这是一个斩钉截铁的否定方式。

(2)hitting the sack 上床睡觉

hit the sack=go to bed / turn in

Tips:英语有一个老梗，睡觉前美国人喜欢说sleep tight。其实，它后面还有半句，完整句是：“Sleep tight, don’t let the bedbugs bite. 睡个好觉，别被床虱给咬了。”这样显得更搞笑一些。这是在朋友和家人之间用的非正式的说法。家长经常用这个说法来吓唬孩子。

(3)on my phone 玩我的手机

Someone is on the phone既可以解释为某人在打电话也可以解释为某人在玩手机。

A: Come on, rise and shine beach boy!

B: Alright, alright, I see. I can barely keep my eyes open. You are one of the two things that I hate the most in my life.

Notes:

(1)rise and shine 起床啦

非正式的叫人起床的短语。rise and shine 指的正是每天早上太阳的升起和闪耀。

(2)barely keep my eyes open 几乎睁不开眼睛

barely这个词很重要，它表示程度很小，表达出了否定的感觉。

e.g. Jesus… What happen to you? I can barely recognize you!

 天哪……你发生了什么变成这样？我都认不出来你了！

A: What? Who is the other one though?

B: My alarm clock. (Cough) Listen, my mum told me to follow my dreams. So… I have to sleep to dream longer.

Notes:

follow my dreams 追寻我的梦,在这里用dream一词玩了个双关语。这个梦本指人生梦想、目标，但此处则是懒觉的借口，睡觉做梦了！

Tips:

再教大家几个关于睡觉的短语。

1.stay up 熬夜

e.g. I stayed up all night. 我熬了一整夜。

2.I pulled an all-nighter. 我捉到一只夜猫子。

3.Get out of the bed 起床

e.g. I can’t get out of bed, for god’s sake! 拜托，我起不来床！

for god’s sake 拜托，有责备的语气。
