L: I’m Luke.

M: Yes, we are.今天我们分享的内容是如何在party中介绍自己，做一个party queen和party king。恩对，party king是我~ 提醒一点，派对里呢,一般不会有太长的对话，所以如果和别人聊了两句就没话题了，不要觉得奇怪。So what you should do is moving on.

A: Hey, you must be malik!

B: Yeah. Nice to meet you.

A: It’s nice to meet you too. I’m Luke.

B: Wow, Julian’s told me all about you!

A: I hope he said only good things.

B: He talks about how awesome you are all the time.

A: Well, that’s a relief. So what do you do here in New York? I mean, what work do you do?

B: I work in financing right now. How about you?

A: I’m actually working in the software development business.

B: Sounds cool! We should hang out sometime.

A: Sounds good to me. Give me a call when you are free. Here is my number.

B: Sure thing. 

A: Thanks, man. Catch you later!

A:我也是。我是Luke.

B:哇，Julian说了很多你的事情。

A:我希望说的都是好事。

B:他总是说你很好。

TIPS:

在自我介绍的时候，不要很生硬地说 my name is…真的听起来很死板，直接说I’m XXX就可以了，非常简单自然。

And by the way, get yourself an English name! 老外并没有那么擅长发汉语的发音，不会起英文名的，去我的公众号malikEnglish，至少看看哪些英文名最好不要起吧！关于那些令人喷饭的英文名，叔已经在那个视频里面说很多了 这里不再赘述。

1. Wow, Julian’s told me all about you!

I’ve heard of a lot of stories about you but maybe haven’t got the chance to really meet you. 这就像中文里面，见面和人寒暄说“久仰久仰”“您的名字真是如雷贯耳啊。”英文你就可以说“I’ve heard a whole lot about you / I’ve heard so much about you!”

2. What work do you do? 你是做什么工作的。=“what kind of job do you do?”

回答一定要用work in+行业

e.g. I work in finance. 我在金融行业工作。

I work in education. 我在教育行业工作。

3. Give me a call when you are free. 有空给我打电话吧~

=“keep in touch”保持联系 = shoot me a text

4. Catch you later”~

回头再说、回见的意思。很自然的告别方式。

问候必备

1.好久不见

It’s been quite a while, hasn’t it. 好久不见了，是吧？

It’s been a long time.

It’s been ages!

e.g. It took me ages to get here! The traffic during the rush hour is horrible!

2.再遇熟识

你近来好么？:

How have you been?

How’s everything?

What have you been up to?

What’s up！”

回答“没什么事”：

Nothing much.

Nothing special.

Same old thing一切还是老样子。
