1. dress up

万圣节夜少不了的就是变装了，那变装，常用的表达就是dress up，后面可以加上as或者like表示变装的内容。

Rachel问Ross会不会扮成恐龙，她问Tell me you are not gonna dress like dinosaur.

小伙伴们，你们会参加万圣节变装活动吗？Are you gonna dress up for halloween? 

变装除了用dress up，当然还可以用这个单词costume，表示装扮的服装，所以你要变装吗？还可以这么问Are you gonna wear costumes?

装扮大赛costume contest.

一起来造个句子，他装扮成吸血鬼，赢得了最佳装扮，He dressed up as a vampire and won the best costume in the costume contest. 

装扮完成，孩子们就可以挨家挨户敲门要糖果啦，那喜欢过节的大人们也有一项活动，可以装饰自己的家，让它看起来像一个鬼屋，鬼屋可以说haunting house，或者house of horrors.

老友记里大家过万圣节，monica扮成了猫女，Phoebe扮成了女超人，两人就在争论谁会赢，谁能打倒谁，这里的打倒，剧中用了两个同义表达，take和beat up，猫女能打倒女超人，但是Phoebe能打倒Monica，我们可以说：I guess catwoman can easily take superwoman, but pheobe can definitely beat monica up.

我的妹妹很瘦但是很有力气，能随便打赢我： My sister looks thin, but she is hardy enough to 

摩登家庭里的二姐专心学习不愿意装扮，她妈妈对她说，如果你学习的时间能分一半到着装上，你也不会变成现在这样，If you gave the costume half as much time and attention as you give your homework, you wouldn’t be in this situation.

这个句型是不是特别熟悉，家长总是这么来教育孩子，比如如果你学习有打游戏一半的时间，你就能考上大学了：If you gave your homework half as much time and attention as you give your video games, you would be studying in a college now.
