Chapter 5：Have breakfast！

第五个场景：吃早餐

Mom: It’s time for breakfast.

妈妈：该吃早餐了。

Son: Wow, it looks tasty!

儿子：哇，看起来很好吃！

Mom: Who wants to help me set the table? 

妈妈：谁可以帮妈妈摆餐桌？

Son: Let me help you.

儿子：让我来帮你。

Mom: Can you put the spoons on the table? 

妈妈：你可以把汤匙摆在餐桌上吗？

Son: Of course.

儿子：当然。

Mom: Don't spill the milk. 

妈妈：不要让牛奶洒出来。

Son: It's too hot. 

儿子：太烫了。

Mom: Blow on your food to cool it off. 

妈妈：吹一下，让它冷一点。

Son: I'm full. I can't eat anymore. 

儿子：我饱了。我再也吃不下了。

Mom：Wash your hands and get ready for school.

妈妈：洗下手，准备去上学。

 The snowy day

 下雪天

One winter morning Peter woke up and looked out the window. Snow had fallen during the night. It covered everything as far as he could see.

冬天的一个早晨，彼得醒来向窗外望去。夜里下雪了，覆盖了他所能看到的一切。

After breakfast he put on his snowsuit and ran outside. The snow was piled up very high along the street to make a path for walking. 

早饭后，他穿上雪衣跑了出去。为了开辟一条走路的道路，雪被沿着街道堆得很高。

Crunch, crunch, crunch, his feet sank into the snow. He walked with toes pointing out, like this:

Then he dragged his feet s-l-o-w-l-y to make tracks.

然后他拖着脚慢慢地走，开了两条小道

And he found something sticking out of the snow that made a new track.

他在雪地里发现了一个形成新的轨迹的东西。

It was a stick—a stick that was just right for smacking a snow-covered tree.

那是一个树枝, 一个被雪覆盖的，正好可以打下雪来玩耍的树枝。

Down fell the snow-----plop! On top of peter’s head.

落下来的雪噗通掉在彼得的头顶上。

He thought it would be fun to join the big boys in their snowball fight, but he knew he wasn’t old enough—not yet.

他认为和大男孩们一起打雪仗会很有趣，但他知道他年龄还不够大。

So he made a smiling snowman, and he made angles

因此他做了一个微笑的雪人, 还做了几个天使。

He pretended he was a mountain-climber, he climbed up a great big tall heaping mountain of snow and slid all the way down.

他假装自己是一个登山者，爬上一座巨大的雪山，又一路滑下来。

He picked up a handful of snow --- and another, and still another. He packed it round and firm and put the snowball in his pocket for tomorrow. Then he went into his warm house.

他抓起一把雪，又抓了另一个，然后再抓了一把。他把这些雪团成又圆又结实的雪球，放在口袋里以备明天玩儿。之后他回到温暖的家。

He told his mother all about his adventures while she took off his wet socks.

在妈妈给他脱掉湿袜子时，他把今天所有的经历都告诉了妈妈。

And he thought and thought and thought about them.

他也不停的想着今天发生的一切。

Before he got into bed he looked in his pocket. His pocket was empty. The snowball wasn’t there. He felt very sad.

在他上床睡觉之前，他看了一下他的口袋，发现里面是空的。雪球不在里面，他感到非常伤心。

While he slept, he dreamed that the sun had melted all the snow away.

睡觉的时候，他梦到太阳融化了所有的雪。

But when he woke up his dream was gone. The snow was still everywhere. New snow was falling.

但当他醒来的时候，梦就消失了。到处依旧都是雪。也正在下着新的雪。

After breakfast he called to his friend from across the hall, and they went out together into the deep, deep snow.

早饭过后，他到大厅对面叫上朋友，他们一起出去到厚厚的雪里玩儿。
