Some songs are sung for myself to listen

有些歌唱给自己听

was one of the songs which had disappeared into the black hole of the universe but was recovered again.

《约定》就是其中一首消失在宇宙黑洞，又被找回来的歌

When I wrote it, I didn't sleep for 26 hours,

写它的时候26个小时没有睡觉

and then used another 2 days to edit it, and also used 5 days to make the melody.

然后又用两天修改，还花了五天时间来做旋律

While writing this song, my heart was extremely depressed,

but I wanted to find a way out and some light for myself.

但又想给自己找到一点出路和光明

Its initial name was called ,

它最初的名字叫《EXO2014》

we went through too much in 2014.

Some songs are sung for others, but is sung for ourselves.

有些歌是唱给别人听的，而《约定》却是唱给我们自己听的

In , there were people who wanted to leave,

《约定》里，有的人要离开

there were things which were really heartbreaking.

有的事很伤心

You feel like you've let down other people and their expectations,

你感觉自己辜负了别人的期待

but you also hope that you will be able to hold on and continue protecting the people you want to protect.

也希望能够坚持保护自己想要保护的人

Even though sadness and pain is unavoidable,

虽然伤心和伤痛是没有办法避免的

but this is all I can do, I am willing to give all of my energy

但能做的就是这些，我愿意付出所有的力气

to hold you tight, to hug you.

抓紧你，抱住你

I have put all the things I wanted to say into the lyrics.
