闻鹊喜·吴山观涛     

南宋·周密 

天水碧，染就一江秋色。鳌戴雪山龙起蛰，快风吹海立。

数点烟鬟青滴，一杼霞绡红湿，白鸟明边帆影直，隔江闻夜笛。

赏：词人曾为两浙运司掾属，官运亨达，喜游山玩水，多典雅浓丽的山水诗词，有《木兰花慢·西湖十景》为代表。这首词是题咏排山倒海的钱塘大潮欲来和正来的情状。天光水色一片澄碧，染一江清秋景色；江潮涌来就像是神龟驮负的雪山，又像是蛰伏的巨龙梦中惊起，疾风掀起海水像竖起的高墙。远处几点青山像美人鬟髻，青翠欲滴。一抹红霞如同刚织就的绡纱，带着汹涌的潮水迸溅的湿意。天边白鸟分明帆樯直立，入夜后隔江传来悠扬的笛声。全词景美意美，也是记游咏物佳作。

To the Tune of Rejoicing over the calls of Magpie --Viewing the tidal bore from Mount Wu

Its water is a boundless green.

Autumn dyes the riverbanks with every hue.  

Suddenly, as if a giant tortoise shoulders a mountain of snow

or a dormant dragon awakes

gusts upend the ocean.

A few misty mountains are lush green

red evening glow floats like dampened silk

white gulls veer by taut distant sails

a night flute melody drifts across the river.

Note:  This is another tidal bore viewing poem.  In the first stanza the poet described the frightening scene of the tidal bore.  The second stanza describes the calm and peaceful scene after the enormous waves have abated.
