晨出艮山门看秋景·访徐艮生貌才

扁舟一棹入溪湾，隔岸红蓼隐白鹇。选胜竭当图画里，招凉难得水云间。

清思惯寄三分竹，晓景贪看两面山。黄叶树中徐稚完，闲可口许叩柴关。

赏：艮山门原为杭州古城东北门，南宋年间因汴京有艮岳，故改此门为艮山门，有不忘古都之意。艮山门在京杭大运河边，如今的运河上驳船日夜穿梭，周边商厦林立，热闹非凡。项益寿在诗中记录了当时秋日艮山门周边的种种景致，溪湾扁舟、红蓼白鹇、远山翠竹，沿这样一幅宁静恬淡的诗画长卷去探望老友，令人羡慕。

Propelling a canoe through the winding brook

white pheasants hide among red knotweed on the opposite side.

Such scenic spots exist only on canvas

most refreshing is where water and clouds merge.

For poetic inspiration, turn to bamboo groves

for scenery indulgence, marvel the mountains along the river.

Xu Zhiwan resides among yellow-leaved trees

    knocking on his thatched gate at my leisure, a pleasure.
