▍原文

Millions of women in the US will lose the constitutional right to abortion, after the Supreme Court overturned its 50-year-old Roe v. Wade decision.

The judgement paves the way for individual states to ban the procedure. Half are expected to introduce new restrictions or bans. Thirteen have already passed so-called trigger laws to automatically outlaw abortion.

At the White House, President Biden called it “a sad day for the court and for the country,” and warned the “health and life of women in this nation are now at risk.”

▍复述文本

Have you heard the breaking news? I couldn’t believe my ears. It’s a dark day for American women. Millions of them will lose the right to abortion. That’s because the Supreme Court overturned its 50-year-old Roe v Wade decision.

This paves the way for individual states to ban the procedure. Half of them are expected to introduce new restrictions or bans. Thirteen have already passed so-called trigger laws to automatically make it illegal for abortion.

People from all walks of life reacted furiously to it. President Biden called it “a sad day for the court and for the country,” and warned the “health and life of women in this nation are now at risk.”
