TikTok is investigating claims of an aggressive work culture after a senior executive at the firm allegedly said he "didn't believe" in maternity leave.

The Financial Times reported that Joshua Ma has now stepped back and been replaced in his role leading the social media firm's UK ecommerce team.

It follows a probe by the newspaper which alleged a staff exodus from TikTok's London offices.

Rumour has it that TikTok’s having a 996 aggressive work culture. They work from 9 am to 9 pm, six days a week. And their headquarters are now looking into it. A senior executive Joshua Ma allegedly said he "didn't believe" in maternity leave, which caused a stir. 

Because of this, he’s now stepped back and been replaced in his role. Previously he led TikTok’s UK ecommerce team.
