Text 1

M: How many more do you need? There are people waiting in line, you know. .

W: Just one more,OK? 1 want you to stand in front of the statue and put your arm around your sister. Ready? One, two.three...

Text2

W: The concert's in a month, Dad. You won't forget to buy the tickets, will you?

M: I'll get them next week. Did Laura ask her parents if she could go with you? If she can't, your brother will. He'll get back home the week before the concert.

Text3

W: I heard on the radio that it will be sunny during the holiday weekend. Maybe we can take a trip to Boston.

M: That sounds great. I' call Jane to see if she'd like to join us.

Text4

W: This is where we store everything before they get sent out to one of our five branches. If you have any questions, I'll be in my office on the third floor.

M: I should be fine. Everything I need is in my employee brochure.

Text5

M: I like your suitcase, Emma! 1 didn't know you are going away. Have a nice trip!

W: I'm not going away. I'm going to school. My textbooks are so heavy that my regular backpack gave me shoulder problems.

第二节听下面5段对话或独白。 每段对话或独白后有几个小题,从题中所给的A.B.C三个选项中选出最佳选项,作答时间。每段对话或独白读两遍。

Text 6

W: Can 1 help you, sir?

M: How much is the grey sweater? I'm looking for a gift for my dad.

W: The regular price is $ 45, but it's on sale at a 20% discount now. So, it's a real bargain.

M: Do you have it in a large size? All 1 see on the shelf are medium and small ones.

W: The only sizes we have are the ones you see. If you need a large one, perhaps you can look through the sweaters behind you. Those are all large and extra large sizes.

M: Oh, thanks. But why are these all more expensive than the other ones?

W: Those are the new styles that just came out. They're all $ 55. The ones you were looking at before are from last season.

听第7段材料,回答第8.9题。

Text7

W: Is that the latest magazine?

M: Yes. And here is an article about the interesting equipment that might replace earphones.

W: What are you talking about?

M: Well, it’s a different way to listen to music or anything you would normally use earphones for. The company Noveto has made a way to deliver sound directly to your ears. You don't have to wear anything special. You only have to be within the right range of the new machine. No one else can hear what you' re listening to. Isn't that unbelievable?

W: That would be great technology to use on long car rides. While you drive and listen to music. the kids could watch a movie in the backseat.

M: And apparently, the machine can sense where your ears are and follow them if you move around. Now that's what I call hi-tech!

听第8段材料,回答第10至12题。

Text 8

M: I'm going base jumping this weekend. Do you want to go with me?

W: No! I'm so scared of that. Don't you think it is very dangerous? If you're not careful. you could be killed. I went skateboarding once before. I dare not go again.

M: It's an adventurous, free and thrilling sport. Extreme sports theses days are well equipped and I'm experienced, so it's OK.

W: Let me put it in this way. You know I've kept a dog for long.

M: Yes.it's very smart.

W: Yeah, but I always have a leash attached to it if we go out. However smart the dog is, it is the equivalent of a two -year -old child who couldn't find his home without me. Therefore, safety is our top priority. Freedom is not that important.

M: I often play extreme sports, including free climbing, bungee jumping and so on. It's not like what you said.

听第9段材料,回答第13至16题。

M: Hello, dear, I'm flying to Paris this evening, but I'm still talking with the boss. Would you please pack my things up and take them to the airport for me? I'll meet you there.

W: What do you mean? The Swifts are coming to our house for a visit this weekend, and you are not going to be at home? And we have plans to go to the theater this evening!

M: Tell the Swifts we have something important to do this weekend, so we have to change all the plans! Don't forget to pack my things and get to the airport by 6:00. The plane takes off at 8:00 this evening. It will take one hour to get to the airport on time.

W: Why me? I have to wait at home for our son. He will be getting back from school son.

M: Oh.dear! I guess I'd better just tell you... next Monday is your birthday, and this is my birthday present for you, We're going to Paris! Please just pack all the things we need for the trip,OK?

W: Wow,what a surprise! But what about our son?

M: You don't need to worry about him. I've arranged everything. His grandpa will pick him up and take care of him. I asked your boss for two days' leave for you. We'll be back next Tuesday.

Text 10

Koalas were declared endangered on Friday in eastern Australia. More koalas are dying from disease, lost habitat and other threats. Federal Environment Minister Sussan Ley said medicine is being developed for koalas to prevent and treat the disease, and experts are studying them and trying to rebuild their habitat. Last year, the Australian Koala Foundation said the country has lost about 30 percent of its koalas in the past three years. In 2020, a survey warned koalas might become extinct before 2050 without immediate help. The number of koalas in Queensland has fallen by half since 2001 because of fires, lack of water and the loss of forests. Some are killed in attacks by dogs or hit by cars, Koalas will go extinct if new laws are not passed to protect forests." said Stuart Blanch. He is a conservation scientist with the World Wildlife Fund Australia. The forest fires in 2019 killed about 8000 koalas, Rescue workers tried hard to save them and treat their injuries. The government says that listing koalas as endangered will bring attention to them and help address threats. But conservation groups argue more has to be done to prevent their extinction.
