W: Well, I was watching TV and they said there was a bright full moon, so I went out to look, and I should have got dressed, I know, but...

M: Lucky you took your phone out with you!

W: Yeah, well I was going to take a photo of the moon, you see...

M: Hmm, right. I’d better come round and fetch you. I’ll be there in 20 minutes.

W: Alright John. Thanks a lot! And can you bring something for me to wear?

M: Yeah, sure. See you soon.

M: You look terrible. What’s wrong, Brenda?

W: Oh, Alan. I couldn’t sleep last night. Couldn’t stop coughing.

M: Got a cold?

W: Yeah, I guess so. Probably caught it from someone on the train.

M: Taken anything for it?

W: Well, I’ve got some cough sweets, but I can’t seem to get rid of it.You’d better stay away from me!

M: Not feeling too good myself, actually.

W: Oh really?

M: There’s something wrong with my stomach. I haven’t been able to keep my food down. Sick all night, I was.

W: Have you been to the doctor’s?

M: Nah, not yet. Will you if it carries on like this?

W: Yes, I will. Any idea what caused it?

M: I think it might have been some seafood I had in a restaurant on Monday.

W: Oh right, yeah, have to be a bit careful with seafood, don’t you?

M: Hmm, guess so.

W: I’m a foreigner here — this isn’t my country. It’s difficult for me — I’m tired, Alex. I miss my family. I want to go home. My mother phoned last night and I just started crying when I heard her voice. It was horrible.

M: Oh, Carolina. Look, why don’t we go out on Sunday? Do something different.

W: I can’t. I have to finish my essay. That’s my university work. Last year everything was OK, but this year, I don’t know, I can’t do things on time. Everything’s late.

M: You’re working too hard — you never have time to relax — that’s why you’re depressed. We’ll go out on Sunday. Now get out of bed, have a shower, sit down, and finish that essay. You’ve got three hours before you have to go to work.

W: OK.

M: Then, on Sunday, we’ll go to the city farm.

W: City farm? OK, I’ve never been there — If I finish my essay.

M: You will. Now go for the shower. I’ll make you some coffee.

W: Thank you, Alex.

W: Thailand’s King Bhumibol died at the age of 88 on Thursday.

In recent years, the king suffered from a series of health problems. Officials said he died peacefully.

Many in the crowd broke down with emotion after hearing of his death. Some held photographs of the king and wore yellow or pink clothing in his honor.

King Bhumibol came to power 70 years ago.He was born in 1927 in the American community of Cambridge, Massachusetts, where his father was studying medicine. The future king was educated mostly in Europe, attending secondary school and a university in Switzerland.

He studied music, and was a skilled saxophone player and composer of jazz.He also liked sailing and wrote several books, including a best-seller about his favorite dog.

He became Thailand’s king in 1946 after the mysterious shooting death of his older brother.

King Bhumibol was greatly respected and beloved in Thailand. He was known as a humble leader who directed many social and economic development projects.
