China has made plans to build national computing centers in 8 regions including the Yangtze Delta, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. These centers will support increasing computational demand for the country's leading city clusters as limits in land resources and energy supply have put a cap on the development of existing computing centers along the east coast. The plan is to "calculate numbers from the east at computing centers in the west", and most of the data that will be sent are less time sensitive, and can be analyzed and stored.
