How to identify a good leader?
Recently, I saw an interesting point: no matter whether it's a national or a certain level manager in the company, what is the most important and difficult task for him? It's called "redefining tasks.". Redefine the tasks assigned by his boss.
Let me give you an example. For example, President Kennedy faced the task of leading the United States to surpass the Soviet Union and win the cold war. But the problem is that this task belongs to his president. He has no way to make it a job for the American people, so he needs to redefine the task.
Kennedy's approach was to launch an Apollo program, which was to land on the moon. Once this task is defined, scientists, engineers and all walks of life across the country will have specific tasks to do.
You see, this view is very interesting. The interesting part is that it can help us identify what is a good leader and what is a bad leader.
If he just gives his boss the task, no matter the target or the target, then he is just a foreman, not a good leader. Why? Because he didn't redefine the mission.

我举个例子，比如当年的美国总统肯尼迪，他面对的任务是带领美国超越苏联，赢得冷战。但问题是，这个任务是他总统的，他没有办法把他变成美国人民可以干的活儿，于是他就需要重新定义任务。
肯尼迪的做法是搞了一个阿波罗计划，就是要登月。这个任务一旦定义出来，好了，全国的科学家、工程师、各行各业就有了具体的可以干的活儿了。
你看这个观点挺有意思的吧，有意思的地方就在于，可以帮我们识别什么是好领导，什么是坏领导。
如果他只是把他老板给他的任务，甭管是目标还是指标往下压，那他就仅仅是个工头，而不是一个好领导。为啥？因为他没有重新定义任务。
