Chapter10-1

Miguel hustled down a staircase with Dante following him. Once they reached the ground floor, they huddled beneath the stairs.

米格飞奔下楼，丹丹紧随其后。他们一路跑到底层，悄悄地缩在楼梯下面。

He looked up and saw his family on the upper floor searching for him.

米格往上一看，他的家人们正在楼上四处找他。

Tío Óscar was speaking to a patrol woman. After a few seconds, she picked up her walkie-talkie.

奥斯卡正在对一名女巡警说着什么。过了几秒，女巡警拿起了她的对讲机。

Miguel scoped the ground floor, quickly spotting a revolving-door exit. “Vámonos,” Miguel said to Dante, and pulled his hood up to cover hishead. Dante padded after him toward the exit.

米格仔细观察底层的构造，快速发现了一扇旋转门出口。“快走。”米格对丹丹说。他拉起帽子遮住头，丹丹则悄悄地跟在他身后往出口走去。

“If I wanna be a musician, I need a musician’s blessing. We gotta find my great-great-grandpa.” Miguel was within feet of the exit when apatrol man stepped in front of him.

 “如果我要成为一名音乐家，那就需要得到音乐家的祝福。我们得找到我的曾曾爷爷。”眼看就要走到出口了，突然，一名巡警挡在了他面前。

“Hold it, muchacho.”

“等等，小伙子。”

Miguel spun around so quickly that his hoodie loosened to reveal his living face.

米格急忙转身，但动作太快，帽子不小心掉了下来，露出他活人的脸庞。

“Ahh!” screamed the patrolman. Miguel tried to pass him but couldn’t.

“啊！”巡警尖叫道。米格想要越过他，但怎么也过不去。

Then a patrol woman’s voice spoke on his walkie-talkie: “Uh, we got a family looking for a living boy.” The patrolman exchanged a look with Miguel.

这时，对讲机里响起女巡警的声音：“嘿，有一家人正在找一个活着的男孩。”巡警和米格交换了一个眼神。

“I got him,” he answered.

“我抓到他了。”巡警朝对讲机应道。

Suddenly, a large, chatty family with their arms full of offerings passed between Miguel and the patrolman.

突然，有一大家子人抱着成堆的祭品，叽叽喳喳地闲聊着，从米格和巡警中间穿过。

“Uh—whoa, excuse me, excuse me, folks!” the patrolman stammered as he tried to avoid bumping into the family.

“呃——哇哦，抱歉，借过，朋友们！”巡警一边躲闪，以免撞到这家人，一边结结巴巴地说道。

Miguel used the distraction to escape. He and Dante zipped down a corridor, but Dante doubled back to inspect a side room.

米格赶紧趁乱逃跑。他和丹丹冲进一条走廊，可丹丹却往回跑向旁边的一个房间张望。
