Hello! Good evening!晚上好!I’m so happy to see you. I’m树华, and it’s almost time to say good night.

But first, let’s have a chat.

BreatheLife, on喜马拉雅,asked me: “Is it cool for someone (like you) to speak two languages? When you speak another language fluently, how do you feel?”

Well, I started learning Chinese in 2010. At first, it was very embarrassing. I knew my Chinese was not good, so I always felt nervous. I kept doing it, though, and after a while, it started to be fun! People were amazed that I could speak Chinese. They would say, “Wow, your Chinese is so good!” I felt very cool.

After a couple years, though, I started using Chinese for work. Then it wasn’t very much fun. It was stressful, because my mistakes could cause problems for my company. I had to work very hard to make my Chinese good enough for my job.

Then, one day, I stopped worrying about it. I discovered that my Chinese was good enough for my job. Sometimes, I would even forget if I was speaking Chinese or English. What I mean is, Chinese started feeling normal to me.

That’s great, right? After all, when you talk with your friends, coworkers, and family, the language is not important. The important thing is what you say, and what you share with other people. Language is just a tool, but sharing is magic.

How about you? How do you feel when you speak English? I want to know, but now it’s time to say goodnight. So, goodnight!

I have few Choices To talk with a foreigner, So I don't know how does it feel when I talk to a foreigner. Now I study English every day, Expecting that one day I could go abroad to talk to a foreigner. If it come true one day, I would come back To tell you how do I feel.

Thank you very much

来自美国的周树华 回复 @BreatheLife: That's a good question! Schools in the USA can be very different. Some are easy, and some are hard. I don't know what schools are like in other countries. It's important to remember that 外国 isn't a place - aside from China, there are lots of countries with very different cultures and schools!

Sometimes when talking, I just can't find proper words to describe ,but after a while, I could express them, so my speed is too fast or too slow. So could shuhua give me some advice ?

来自美国的周树华 回复 @洋洋_kF6: I practice by talking to myself a lot! It's good practice for thinking of words more quickly.
