维克托把第二个怪物的身体碎块抛到湖里。警察因为湖边的一具尸体向维克托问话。维克托认出死者是好朋友亨利，他悲痛欲绝，大病一场。

Victor was sure that his decisionwas right.

I could not create a secondmonster.

But the creature's words stayed inhis mind.

“I will be with you on your weddingnight.” So he wants to take his revenge on me. But I will kill him first!

The next day he put the pieces ofthe body into a sack.

I can throw them into the middle ofthe lake.

He went out in a boat.

There! That is the end. There willnever be another creature.

维克托确信他的决定是正确的。

我不可以再造第二个怪物。

但是第一个怪物的话一直回荡在他的脑海里面。

 “我会在你新婚之夜找你的。”因此他肯定会向我报复，但是我会先杀了他。

第二天，他把尸体的各个部分放进一个麻袋。

When he returned to the shore, twopolicemen were waiting for him.

Mr Frankenstein, we'd like to askyou some questions.

What's wrong? What has happened?

We are investigating a murder.

Victor thought about the pieces ofbody. He looked back at the lake.

Did somebody see me with the sack?

He turned to the policemen.

Who is dead?

A young man. We haven't identifiedhim yet.

当他回到岸上时，两个警察正等着他。

Some people found the body at theside of the lake early this morning. There were marks around his neck. Themurderer was incredibly strong.

Victor felt his fear return.

Did you see anything strange fromyour boat?

No, nothing.

Can I see the body?

Come with us.

He followed the policemen withterror in his heart.

There was a body under a cover onthe beach.

今天一大早有人在湖边发现了这具尸体。在他的脖子周围有很多印记。这个杀人犯异常强壮。

维克托感到一阵恐惧袭上心头。

The policeman pulled back thecover.

Do you recognize the young man?

Henry! What has he done to you? Oh,Henry, my dear friend!

Victor was in despair. He fell tothe ground next to his friend's body.

The second death because of me!When will it end?

He became unconscious and thepolicemen brought him to a hospital.

He was ill for a long time. He hada fever and wild uncontrollable dreams. 

Get away from me, monster! I killedthem! I created him and they died because of me.

Everybody thought he was mad.

His father and Elizabeth came totake him home.

警察拉开遮盖物。

亨利！他都对你做了什么啊？天啊，亨利，我亲爱的朋友！

维克托陷入绝望。他摔倒在他朋友的身体旁边。
