 【本章大意】

维克托回到家后，一个人来到了发现威廉尸体的树林并看见了他创造出来的怪物。第二天，他去山中散步时再次遇到怪物。维克托十分生气因为怪物杀了威廉。怪物表示只想要快乐并要给维克托讲故事。

Victor returned to his family home. Elizabeth was there.

Oh Victor! At last you are here! We have missed you so much.

I know I was wrong to stay away. I love you all.

I want to see the place where William was murdered.

I'll come with you.

No, let me go alone.

It was dark and raining. He found the place in the woods.

Poor William, you were just a child. You died because of me. I don't know how but I know that I was responsible.

He had a feeling that somebody was watching him.

维克托回到家乡，伊丽莎白在那里等他。

啊，维克托！你终于回来了，我们一直很想你。

我知道我离开你们是错误的，我爱你们！

我想去威廉被杀的地方看看。

那我和你一起去。

不，我一个人去。

天很黑，还下着雨，他在树林中找到了那个地方。

可怜的威廉，你还只是一个孩子啊。你是因为我死的。我不知道事情的经过是怎样，但是我知道我有责任。

他感觉到有什么人在监视他。

There was a flash of lightning. For a second he saw a huge, dark figure among the trees.

You! You monster! I knew that it was you.

He ran after the figure.

He's gone. He moves so fast.

How did he find his way here? How did he know my home?

Victor returned home. But now he was more worried than before.

What is he planning to do next? How can I protect my family?

The next day he went for a walk alone in the mountains.

He was desperate. He did not know what to do.

I cannot tell anybody what I have done, not even Elizabeth. Nobody will believe me.

一道闪电划过，一瞬间，他看到树林里面有一个又大、又黑的人影。

你，你这个怪物！我知道是你。

他跟踪着这个人影。

他消失了，他走得很快。

他是怎么找到这里的？他是怎么知道我的家的？

维克托回到家，他现在比以前更加忧心了。

他下一步打算做什么？我怎样才能保护我的家人？

第二天，他一个人去山里散步。

他很绝望，不知道该做什么。

我不能告诉任何人我做的事情，甚至对伊丽莎白。没人会相信我。

He saw something moving in the rocks.

Who is that? Is there somebody there?

Suddenly the creature was standing in front of him.

I am here, Frankenstein - your creature.

He was much bigger than a normal man. His face was evil but his eyes were sad.

Victor was shocked. But he was angry too.

What do you want from me, you monster? You killed William, my brother. I loved him so much.

Do not speak to me of love. You showed no love for me. If your brother is dead, it is because of this.

他看到有东西在岩石堆里移动。

突然那个怪物出现在他的面前。

No, Frankenstein. I do not want to hurt other people. I will never harm you. You are my father, my creator. But why did you create me if you do not love me? I am the saddest creature in the world.

How can I love a monster? What do you want from me?

I ask only for a little happiness. But you must help me. Come with me and listen to my story. Then you can decide.
