1. having said that 话虽如此

我们通常会用 while, but, however 来表示观点的转折。

今天我们学个更口语的说法：having said that 话虽如此。

她的英语很流利，话虽如此，但沟通技能还需要提升。

She is fluent in English. Having said that, she needs to improve her communication skills.

你的工作做的很好，但是，依然有提升的空间。

Your work has been fairly good. Having said that, there is still room for improvement.

有句老话怎么说来着，“某事在人，成事在天”，话虽如此，但是你的努力不会不被看到。

What's that old proverb? Man Proposes, God Disposes. Having said that, your effort wouldn't go unnoticed.

2. break sth to sb 告诉某人不好的消息

记得在31期，我们学过的break相关的表达：give sb a break 表示放过某人。

开车超速了，警察跟你说：

I'm gonna give you a break.

I will cut you some slack.

Let you off the hook.

我不得不把这个坏消息告诉你，你会怎么说？

有没有想到之前学过的：hate to bring this up; burst sb's bubble

剧中，男主是这么说的：I got to break it to the kids. 

固定表达：break sth to sb 就是把不好的事情告诉某人，理解为泼冷水，扫某人的兴致。

朋友把旅行的行程都精心策划好了，但你提醒说，但有些事情，不是你能控制的。

Hate to break it to you. The fact that there are things outside your control.

拒绝了朋友周末的聚餐，你说，整个周末都要加班。

Sorry to break it to you. I'll be working all weekend.

前男友想挽回你，你说，很不想告诉你，但是我们已经错过了。

I hate to break it to you, but that ship has sailed.

3. chip away 逐步破坏；渐渐削弱

剧中，以“炸鸡叔”和“拉罗”为首的，两位毒品犯罪老大，一心想抢对方的毒品市场，就有这样一句台词：he's gonna chip away at your business 他会一点一点抢走你的生意。

该句中：chip away, 它表示逐步破坏；渐渐削弱，常搭配 at 使用。

繁多的家务活正在淡化她的幸福感。

Doing the bulk of domestic work in the home is chipping away at her sense of well-being.

线上购物将一点一点抢走实体店的生意。

The online shopping is gonna chip away at physical store business.

跑步是一种有效缓解压力和焦虑的方式。

Running is an effective way to chip away at my depression and anxiety.

4. sth is music to my ears 这是好消息

music to my ears 字面意思像音乐灌进了耳朵，通常表示，这是个好消息，让人很高兴，等同that's a good news.

剧中这么说的：it is music to my ears. I'm just over the moon. 

这可真是好消息, 我要开心到飘了。

他们能提供帮助简直是太棒了。

Their offer of help is music to my ears.

听到朋友要生小孩的消息，特别开心。

When I heard that she was going to have a baby, it was music to my ears.

得知朋友升职的消息，感到很开心。

The news of her promotion was music to my ears.

5.pronto 立即

我们在67期学过一个小词：stat, 剧中又出现了一个意思相近的小词：pronto, 来自于拉丁文 promo，英语里也表示马上，立即。可替换：quickly, soon, promptly.

在学到新的表达后，我会赶紧尝试把它们用起来！
