Hello! Good evening! 晚上好！ I’m so happy to see you. I’m Shuhua, and it’s almost time to say good night.
你好！晚上好！很开心能见到你。我是树华。快到了要说晚安的时候。


But first, I want to talk with you about time.
可是现在，我想跟你聊聊时间这件事。


Time is the one thing we all share. Everyone lives in time. We can use it, we can waste it, we can take advantage of it, we can run out of it. We often feel like there’s not enough of it, and we want more. Sometimes we want to go back to an earlier time, but time keeps moving forward.
时间是唯一全人类共享的东西。每个人都活在时间里面。我们可以使用它、浪费它、利用它、也可以用光它。我们经常觉得时间不够，想要更多。有时候我们想回到过去的时间，可是时间就一直往前走着。


What is time? It’s not a thing, like an apple or a desk. It’s not a place, either. It’s not even an idea, because time was here before we were here. So what is it, really? And why does it only go one way? Why isn’t it any faster, or slower? 
时间到底是什么？它不是个东西，比如苹果或者桌子。它也不是个地方。它连“概念”都不是，因为有了人类以前已经有了时间。所以它到底是什么？为什么是单方向的？为什么不是快一点或者慢一点？


Because we can never get outside of time, it might be the hardest thing for us to understand. But that’s OK. We don’t need to understand why it works the way it does. All we need to understand is what we want to do with the time that we have. 
因为我们永远没法从时间走出来，所以时间有可能对我们来说是世界上最难理解的东西。可是这也OK。我们不需要明白时间为什么是这样，我们只需要我们要怎么用那么一些属于我们自己的时间。


I’ve spent almost 100 nights sharing Good Night English with you. I don’t know who you are, and I don’t know what time is, but I’m very glad that I spent this time with you.
我已经花了快100个晚的时间和你分享晚安英语。我不认识你，我也不知道时间是个什么东西，可是我很开心我把这段时间用来陪你。
