But first, I want to talk with you about sitting.
可是现在,我想跟你聊聊坐着这件事。
I'm sitting right now. Are you sitting, or standing, or lying down?
我现在正在坐着。你呢,现在坐着呢?还是站着呢?还是躺着呢?
These days, I think most people spend most of their time sitting down. We sit down to work at our computers. We sit down to listen to class. We sit down to do our homework. We sit down to eat. We sit down to drink coffee, or play games, or just talk with our friends.
现在,我觉得发部份人大部分时间都是坐着的。我们坐着用电脑、坐着听课、坐着写作业、坐着吃饭、坐着喝咖啡、玩游戏、和跟朋友们聊天。
Sitting down is pretty comfortable, but it can be unhealthy. Since I started working at home, I have gained a lot of weight. I want to be healthier, so I got a standing desk, but I almost never use it.
坐着还挺舒服,可是也不一定健康。从我开始在家里工作的时候,我胖了很多。我想健康一点,所以我买了一台能站着用的桌子,可是我也很少用到它。
They say that you should never sit down for more than about 45 minutes at a time. Then you should stand up for about 5 minutes. Just standing is fine, but walking around or doing some exercise is better.
有人说你坐着不要超过45分钟一次,然后要站着5分钟。站着是可以的,可是走一走或者运动一下就更好。
Actually, if we can just remember to stand up a few times each day, we could be a lot more healthy. Sometimes the secret to a better life is something very simple. The only hard part is remembering to do it.
其实,如果我们能提醒自己每天几次站起来的话,我们会健康多了。有时候更好的生活之秘密是很简单的,难点就在于提醒自己做到。
