知识点一：

cliché (n.) / (adj.) 

陳詞濫調 老生常談

例子：

1. I know it’s a cliché, but don’t judge a book by its cover.

我知道這句話老掉牙了， 但是真的不要以貌取人

A：What a beautiful view! Paris is the most beautiful city in Europe.

好美的景色啊，看來巴黎真的是歐洲最美的城市。

B:   No, it’s just an old cliche.

怎麼可能， 這種說法太老掉牙了。

A: Sally said she married to her soul mate.

莎莉說她嫁給了她的靈魂伴侶。

B： Oh, what else did she say?

喔她還說了啥。 

A： She also said her wedding day was the happiest day of her life.

她還說了她婚禮當天是她人生中最幸福的一天。 

B:  It’s such a cliche.

也太老掉牙了吧。

知识点二：

déjà vu (n.) 

似曾相識

例子：

1.I’m having déjà vu.

我有種似曾相識的感覺。

2. I was having that feeling like deja vu, you know? 

你知道當時我就有種似曾相識的感覺。

3. I had a strong sense of deja vu as I entered the room.

我剛一進房間就有種很強烈的似曾相識感覺。

A：What does déjà vu feel like? 

似曾相識的感覺是怎樣的？

B：Some people say when you meet your soulmate, you’ll get a sense of déjà vu.

他們說當你碰到自己靈魂伴侶的時候你就會有那種似曾相識的感覺。

知识点三：

RSVP (v.) 

[abbreviation 縮寫]

例子：

1. RSVP by October 9th.

請在10月9號前回覆。 

2. He did not RSVP to the invitation.

他沒有回覆那個邀請。

3. Most of our friends have RSVP’d to our wedding invitation.
