（一）quality

常用义：质量

应用：用于形容产品

其他用法：

1. 描述“水”“空气”

水的质量→水质 空气质量

2. 描述某物某方面的特性

Eg.植物和水果的营养性

1)The fruit has high nutritional quality.

这种水果有很高的营养性。/这种水果有很高的营养价值。

（分析：所谓的“性”，在这儿就是指“特性”）

2) This plant has medical quality.

这种植物有药性/药用价值。

3. 描述“声音”的特性

His/her voice has a quality。他的声音很有特色。

His voice has a rich quality。他的声音有一种饱满的特质。

4. 描述“颜色”“光”的特性

There is a special quality of light and shade in her paintings。

在她的绘画作品中，光和影有一种特殊的质感。

5. 描述“电影”的特性

The music gives the movie a dreamlike quality.

音乐给这部电影添加了梦幻般的效果。

6. 描述某地的特性

The ancient city of Wuzhen has a peaceful quality.

古城乌镇有一种平和的魅力。

7. 描述人

理解为：“素质”，或者是“品质”“品性”“素养”“品行”或“品德”

1）She has all thequalities of a good teacher.

她具备一个好老师的所有素质。

2）we need people with leadership qualities.

我们需要具备领导素质的人。

3）Generosity is one of her many good qualities.

为人大方是她人众多优良品质之一。

4）Kindness is a human quality which everyone admires.

有时候你也不知道孩子的优良习性是跟谁学的。

总结：quality这个词在汉语中有多种多样的表达方式，描写东西的和描写声音的不一样，描写声音的和描写地方的不一样，描写地方的和描写人的不一样，就算都是描写人的不同的句子里也有不同的说法。所以要吃透同类实用词的英语思维规律，从而做到以一顶十、举一反三。
