方法四步走：
鼓励。3岁以后的宝宝有了一定的生活积累，加上思考能力的进步，他们能够理解别人并且接受旁人的道理。这个时候，家长可以通过语言鼓励，让宝宝明白一个人的好处和舒服。培养宝宝的独立意识，树立自信，产生一个人睡的意愿。家长还可以带着孩子去别人家做客，看到别人小主人自己一个房间，并且自己一个人睡觉的时候，当着孩子的面给予小主人称赞。带着孩子参观小主人的房间，夸小主人的床很漂亮、很舒服等，宝宝会产生羡慕之情，并且希望自己也能有一个房间，能有一张自己的床。

转移床位。如果害怕宝宝一时间接受不了这样的环境转变，父母可以在先在大床的旁边放一张小床，等到宝宝在大床上睡着再把宝宝抱过小床上睡。但是，当宝宝独自醒来的时候，家长要及时地出现在宝宝面前，并且安抚宝宝的心情，给予鼓励和称赞：“我们家的宝宝长大了，可以睡自己的小床了，宝宝很厉害！”。这样既可以弥补宝宝情感的失落，又可以提高宝宝自己睡觉的信心和勇气。

转移房间。当宝宝接受了前面的分床睡时，父母就可以实施这个计划了。每天晚上时间差不多的时候，就提前让宝宝做好睡觉的准备。白天增减宝宝的活动量，晚上不做让孩子太兴奋的事情，营造安静的睡觉环境，让宝宝产生睡意。等待宝宝顺利进入睡眠的时候，父母就可以和孩子分房睡了。

装饰房间。给宝宝的房间加上宝宝喜欢的装饰，可以减少宝宝对新房间的排斥。床、枕头、杯子等都可以设计成有趣的东西，增加宝宝的兴趣。在墙上贴一些可爱的图片，还有父母的照片，还有其他很多的玩具。给宝宝设置一个温馨、舒适、漂亮的房间。

需要注意的问题是：
让与宝宝分房的时候，不要急，父母应该考虑宝宝的心理接受能力。不能让宝宝由此而产生了对独自一个人睡觉的恐惧。在实施以上计划的时候，有些孩子会在半夜醒来，跑进父母的房间要和父母一起睡，这时候，家长不能心软，应该坚守原则，不然就前功尽弃了。但是，遇到宝宝生病或挫折的时候，父母就应该酌情给予宝宝关心和安慰了。
