1. 对话

Mr. Wilson: Excuse me, do you know if Jack is in today? I’m supposed to have a meeting with him, but he’s not responding to my messages.

Dennis: Let me check that for you! Looks like he’s in a meeting right now. I'm not quite sure when he'll be done. Why don’t you take a seat over there and wait for him to finish? I’ll let you know when he's ready for you.

Mr. Wilson: Ok great thanks! Oh and also, I was wondering if you knew where the bathroom is?

2. 划重点

1) be动词+ in

a. = 在不在

2) Supposed to

a. = 应该 | 约好

b. Supposed - d的发音 – 表达这个意思时，supposed的d不发音。

例：

I'm supposed to have dinner with him today.

He was supposed to call me back.

3) Respond to

a. = 回复

b. 用来表达回复邮件、消息等。必须得加to。

4) Let me

a. 表示“我来…吧”的意思

例：

Let me check for you.

Let me see.

5) It looks like + 完整的句子/名词

a. = 看来我们…

b. 在口语中，it经常忽略掉，直接说looks like…。

例：

(It) looks like we're not gonna make it in time.

Looks like chicken.

6) Not quite

a. = 不太

例：

I'm not quite sure if that's going to work.️

That's not going to work.️

7) Why don’t you

a. = 要不你…吧

例：

Why don't you call back later?

Why don't you try eating less cookies?

8) Take a seat

a. = 坐下

9) And

a. = 又…又… - 可以用来并列形容词，比如“又聪明又漂亮，smart and pretty

b. 还可以用来并列的句子，做A并做B（坐会儿等一下）

例：

I'll finish this up and give you a call.

Let's finish lunch and go.

10) I was wondering if/特殊疑问词.

a. = Wonder - 好奇、想知道

例：

I was wondering when I'll hear back from you.

I was wondering if you wanted to come to lunch with us.
