An after - school club or event is a very good platform to promote Chinese language and culture abroad . Running such a club or organising such an event also shows my eagerness of being involved in school life and offering more to my students . It can benefit the school , the students and myself .
First of all , I should come up with a mature idea or plan about running the club or event , including what it will be like , for whom , how long , how often it will be , and how it will benefit the school and the students .
Then I ' ll share my idea with the person in charge , for example , the Head of MFL , and I ' ll ask him or her for advice and permission .
Next I ' ll try to promote my club or event . I can ask the Head of MFL for advice and find some proper ways to do this . Assemblies , posters , window exhibitions and outdoor activities all look good .
Of course , I need to get some basic materials ready , like books , tools , et cetera .
After the club starts , I need to keep it as fancy and attractive as possible , but above all , the club itself should be practical because that keeps the attendants to stay . On the other hand , I know it happens that an after - school club loses attendants after it kicks off , but I think I can do something to keep them . For example , I can ask them what they are interested in , not just teach what I want to teach them . Then we can accordingly do an interesting and special project throughout a term . In this way , they might be attracted by their own project , and so long as they keep coming and are interested in Chinese language and culture , the club or the event is a success .
