The class atmosphere is two - folded . It includes the physical atmosphere and the psychological one .
Physically , first of all , the classroom layout matters . For example , if we pay some more attention to our seating plan - like who and who sitting together , and whether we need to change the seating plan from time to time - it may benefit our teaching and learning .
Effective decorations are also necessary , because the decoration related to a school subject is a very good reminder to the students - like where they are and what they can do .
Some necessary technology and equipments are also vital , such as multimedia appliances and teaching kits , which can provide the students with a better aural and visual effect .
Psychologically , in the first place , teachers and students will feel comfortable and confident in a friendly atmosphere . This requires teachers and students to respect , trust and support each other . Meanwhile , teaching and learning steps and activities should be kept at the right pace .
To be specific in a Chinese lesson , we can include some Chinese elements when we create the right atmosphere . For example , we can name different teams and groups after Chinese cities or dynasties . We can also decorate the classroom with Chinese paintings , calligraphy and the China Knots .
What ' s more , we should understand the local people and culture and show our respect , because mutual understanding and respect is the key part of a friendly atmosphere .
Last but not least , we need to make our Chinese lessons fun so that the students won ' t be afraid of them but love them , and they will feel comfortable and confident . More importantly , this will keep the students , so some of them might continue learning Chinese in the future .
