Harvest*
“Endless extend my boundless fields;
A tenth is levied of their yields.
I take grain from old store
To feed the peasants' mouth.
We've good years as of yore;
Igo to acres south.
They gather roots and weed;
Lush grow millets I see.
Collected by those who lead,
They are presented to me.
“I offer millets nice
And rams in sacrifice
To spirits of the land
That lush my fields become.
Joyful my peasants stand;
They play lute and beat drum.
We pray to God of Fields
That rain and sunshine thrives
To increase our millet yields
And bless my men and their wives."
Our lord's grandson comes near.
Our wives and children dear
Bring food to acres south.
The o'erseer opens mouth,
From left to right takes food
And tastes whether it's good.
Abundant millets grow
Over acres high and low.
Our lord's grandson is glad;
His peasants are not bad.
The grandson's crops in piles
Stand high as the roof tiles.
His stacks upon the ground
Look like hillock and mound.
He seeks stores in all parts
And conveys crops in carts.
We peasants sing in praise
Of millet,paddy,maize.
He'll be blessed night and day
And live happy for aye.
