佐罗 Zorro Chapter 04

[00:00:00.7]Chapter Four Captain Ramon

[00:00:05.9]At 8 p.m. it is dinner time at Don Carlos' home.

[00:00:10.9]The family is sitting at the table. 

[00:00:13.6]Someone knocks at the door. 

[00:00:17.3]A servant opens it 

[00:00:20.7]and Zorro appears!

[00:00:23.2]Don Carlos, his wife and daughter stand up. 

[00:00:26.9]They are Scared. "Good evening," says Zorro. "Don't be scared! 

[00:00:32.2]You are an honest man, Don Carlos. I only want some food and drink."

[00:00:37.5]Zorro goes to Lolita and whispers, 

[00:00:40.9]"I cannot forget this afternoon in the patio."

[00:00:44.1]"You must not come here. It is dangerous!" whispers Lolita.

[00:00:49.5]Suddenly a young Spanish soldier enters the house. 

[00:00:53.6]He is Captain Ramon. 

[00:00:55.8]He wants to arrest Zorro. 

[00:00:58.5]Zorro takes out his sword and they fight. The two men are good fighters.

[00:01:04.9]"I want to arrest you, Zorro," says Captain Ramon. "You are a public enemy."

[00:01:10.6]"You cannot arrest me!" says Zorro.

[00:01:13.3]Zorro injures the Captain's shoulder with his sword. 

[00:01:19.3]The Captain falls to the floor.

[00:01:21.8]"Please help the Captain!" Zorro says to Don Carlos. 

[00:01:26.1]Then he smiles at Lolita and rides away on his horse.

[00:01:34.3]Don Carlos' wife and daughter look after Captain Ramon's injured shoulder. 

[00:01:40.3]The Captain likes beautiful Lolita.

[00:01:43.8]"Don Carlos," says the Captain, 

[00:01:46.7]"I like Lolita very much. I come from a good family and I am the Governor's friend. 

[00:01:53.3]I am 23 years old and I am the Captain of the Presidio. 

[00:01:57.7]May I court Lolita?"

[00:02:00.3]"First, I must explain something," says Don Carlos. 

[00:02:04.8]"Don Diego Vega wants to court Lolita too. 

[00:02:08.9]Lolita must choose her husband herself, but you have my permission to court her!"

[00:02:15.6]The next morning there is a lot of noise at the Presidio. 

[00:02:20.3]Don Diego and other men are watching. There are many soldiers on their horses. 

[00:02:26.8]They are listening to Sergeant Gonzales. 

[00:02:31.7]"Today is an important day. 

[00:02:34.2]We must find Zorro! 

[00:02:36.7]We must look in every hacienda and in every home. Remember the Governor's big reward. Let's go!"

[00:02:45.5]That morning Don Diego sends a letter to Don Carlos:

[00:02:50.4]My dear friend,

[00:02:52.2]Sergeant Gonzales and his soldiers want to arrest Zorro. 

[00:02:56.4]It is dangerous for you and  your family to stay at your hacienda. 

[00:03:00.6]Please come to my home in Reina de Los Angeles. 

[00:03:04.4]It is safe in my home. 

[00:03:06.2]I must go away for a few days.

[00:03:08.5]Your friend, Diego Vega

[00:03:11.4]Don Carlos receives the letter and says, 

[00:03:15.0]"What a generous invitation! Don Diego wants to protect Lolita. 

[00:03:19.9]We must accept the invitation. Let us go immediately!"
