[00:00:00.00]Chapter Two: The Shadow

[00:00:05.00]The children are sleeping and dreaming.

[00:00:08.50]Suddenly the window opens.

[00:00:13.60]A small ball of light enters the nursery 

[00:00:17.50]and flies around.

[00:00:19.90]It is a lovely fairy called Tinker Bell.

[00:00:24.20]She is looking for something.

[00:00:27.10]After a moment a young boy enters the nursery and says,

[00:00:32.50]"Tink, where are you?

[00:00:35.10]Please find my shadow."

[00:00:37.20]Tinker Bell finds his shadow in the drawer and gives it to him.

[00:00:42.00]"Now I can stick the shadow to my feet with some soap," he thinks.

[00:00:46.90]He tries and tries again, but he can't.

[00:00:51.00]He is very confused and starts crying.

[00:00:55.70]Wendy wakes up and sees the boy 

[00:00:59.20]but she is not afraid.

[00:01:01.20]His clothes are made of leaves.

[00:01:04.60]"Little boy, why are you crying?" Wendy asks.

[00:01:09.30]The boy takes off his cap and asks,

[00:01:12.70]"What's your name?"

[00:01:14.60]"Wendy Moira Angela Darling. What's yours?"

[00:01:19.50]"Peter Pan."

[00:01:20.70]"Is that all?"

[00:01:22.50]"Yes !" says Peter. Then he thinks, 

[00:01:26.60]"My name is very, very short."

[00:01:30.20]Wendy looks at his shadow and asks, "Can I help you with your shadow?"

[00:01:36.00]"Yes, please!" says Peter.

[00:01:38.70]Wendy gets her sewing basket and sews on Peter's shadow.

[00:01:43.70]After a few minutes she says, "Finished! Now you have your shadow again."

[00:01:50.00]Peter looks at the floor and sees his shadow.

[00:01:54.10]He is very happy and dances around the room.

[00:02:07.50]"Oh, Wendy, you are wonderful!" says Peter.

[00:02:11.10]"Do you really think so?" asks Wendy.

[00:02:15.00]"Yes," says Peter.

[00:02:17.50]Wendy smiles and gives Peter a kiss on the cheek.

[00:02:22.40]"Oh!" says Peter. "How nice!"

[00:02:26.30]"How old are you, Peter?" asks Wendy.

[00:02:29.90]"I don't know, but I am young.

[00:02:33.10]I don't want to grow up.

[00:02:35.10]I always want to be a boy and have fun."

[00:02:38.70]Peter looks around the room for his fairy.

[00:02:46.80]He hears a noise and looks in a drawer.

[00:02:50.20]Tinker Bell flies out.

[00:02:52.30]Wendy is delighted to see a fairy, 

[00:02:55.30]but Tinker Bell is afraid.

[00:02:57.70]She hides behind the big clock.

[00:03:04.50]"Where do you live, Peter?" asks Wendy.

[00:03:08.20]"I live in Neverland with the Lost Boys ," says Peter.

[00:03:12.70]"Neverland? The Lost Boys? Who are they?" asks Wendy.

[00:03:18.80]"The Lost Boys haven't got a mother or father.

[00:03:22.10]They are alone in the world and they live in Neverland.

[00:03:25.50]I am their Captain.

[00:03:27.60]In Neverland we fight the pirates.

[00:03:30.90]We also swim in the lagoon with the beautiful mermaids.

[00:03:34.90]Fairies live in the trees and the forest.

[00:03:37.70]The fairies are my friends," says Peter.

[00:03:41.20]"Oh, what fun!" says Wendy.

[00:03:44.70]"I must go back now.

[00:03:46.50]I must tell the Lost Boys a story.

[00:03:49.10]They love stories," says Peter.

[00:03:51.60]"Don't go away! I know a lot of stories," says Wendy.

[00:03:56.70]"Then come with me, Wendy.

[00:03:58.70]You can tell us stories.

[00:04:00.90]We all want a mother.

[00:04:02.80]Please come," says Peter.

[00:04:05.20]"But I can't fly," says Wendy.

[00:04:08.60]"I can teach you to fly," says Peter.

[00:04:12.00]"Can you teach John and Michael to fly too?"

[00:04:15.50]"Yes, of course," says Peter.

[00:04:18.20]"John! Michael! Wake up! This is Peter Pan. He's from Neverland.

[00:04:24.00]It's a beautiful place," says Wendy.

[00:04:27.70]John and Michael are very surprised. "We can go there with him.

[00:04:33.10]But first we must learn to fly," Wendy says.

[00:04:38.10]Wendy, John and Michael are very excited.

[00:04:42.60]They try to fly but fall on the beds and on the floor.

[00:04:47.60]"No, no," says Peter. "Here is some fairy dust."

[00:04:51.90]He puts some fairy dust on their shoulders.

[00:04:56.40]"Now try again," says Peter.

[00:04:59.20]"Look, I can fly!" says Wendy.

[00:05:03.00]"I can too," says John.

[00:05:05.80]"Me too," says little Michael.

[00:05:09.20]"Tink, show us the way to Neverland," says Peter.

[00:05:13.80]They follow Tinker Bell and fly out of the nursery window.

[00:05:18.70]In the garden Nana looks at the sky and barks.

[00:05:25.90]Mr and Mrs Darling return from the dinner party.

[00:05:29.90]They go into the nursery, 

[00:05:32.20]but it is empty!
