Trade between China and the other 14 Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) members reached 8.32 trillion yuan in the first eight months of this year, accounting for 30.5 percent of China's total foreign trade, Vice Commerce Minister Wang Shouwen said Tuesday. Since RCEP went into force on Jan 1 this year, it has delivered increasingly prominent dividends to companies through tariff concessions, trade facilitation, and other policies, he said. Driven by the world's largest free trade deal, the level of free trade and investment has been raised in East Asia, and the region's business environment has seen continuous improvement, with growing confidence in economic recovery, Wang said. 
商务部国际贸易谈判代表兼副部长王受文20日表示，今年前8个月，中国与RCEP其他14个成员国贸易额达8.32万亿元，占中国外贸总额的30.5%。王受文说，RCEP今年1月1日正式生效实施后，企业积极利用关税减让、原产地累积规则、贸易便利化等，获得了真金白银的收益。王受文认为，在RCEP推动下，东亚地区贸易投资自由化便利化水平显著提升，营商环境持续改善，经济复苏信心不断增强。

Boeing agrees to pay $200 million for misleading public about 737 Max

Boeing and its former CEO Dennis Muilenburg agreed to pay hefty fines to settle charges from the Securities and Exchange Commission that they misled the public about the safety of the 737 Max following two fatal crashes in 2018 and 2019. The company and Muilenburg agreed to settle charges of violating the antifraud provisions of US securities laws, but they did not admit or deny the SEC’s allegations. “Boeing and Muilenburg put profits over people by misleading investors about the safety of the 737 Max, all in an effort to rehabilitate Boeing’s image following two tragic accidents that resulted in the loss of 346 lives and incalculable grief to so many families,” said Gurbir Grewal, director of the SEC’s Enforcement Division, in a statement.
