It took me a long time to figure out where he came from. The little prince asked me a lot of questions, but
He didn't seem to hear any of my questions. Gradually, some of the things he said overheard
I gradually found out where he came from. For example, when he first saw my plane (I won't draw it because it's too complicated for me), he asked me, "What's this?"
"It's not a 'plaything'. It can fly. It's an aeroplane. It's my plane." I was so proud to tell him I could fly. So he said in amazement, "What? You fell out of the sky?" "Yes." I replied humbly. "Huh? That's hilarious."
At this point the little prince let out a clear laugh. This displeased me. I demanded that others take seriously
my misfortune. Then he said again.
"So, you are from the sky too! What planet are you from?"
Immediately, I vaguely discovered a slight clue to the secret of where he had come from; so I
suddenly asked, "Have you come from another planet?"
But he did not answer my question. He looked at my plane, nodded slightly, and then said
"No, you can't have come from very far away on this thing..."
With that, he fell into a long pause of thought. Then, pulling the lamb I had drawn out of his pocket, he
He looked at his baby with fascination.
You can imagine how intrigued I was by this dark talk about "other planets".
So I tried my best to find out more about the mystery.
"Where do you come from, my little one? Where is your home? Where are you taking my little lamb?
Where to?" He pondered for a moment, and then answered me, saying.
"It's a good thing I have that box you gave me to use as a house for the lamb at night."
"That's for sure. If you are obedient, I will draw you another rope to tie it up during the day. And add
on a skewer."
My suggestion seemed to disgust the little prince a little.
"Bolt it, what a strange idea."
"If you don't tether it and it runs around, then it will get lost."
This friend of mine burst out laughing again.
"Where do you want it to run off to?"
"Wherever. It keeps running..."
At this point, the little prince said solemnly.
"It doesn't matter, I'm very, very small there."
Then he added, with a touch of sadness.
"It won't go far if it keeps going..."
