一、2021年生态环境质量持续改善|China Fulfills Green Goals in 2021

Liu Youbin, a spokesperson from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said at a press conference on Monday that China fulfilled all eight binding targets covering emissions of CO2 and surface water quality.

生态环境部新闻发言人刘友宾在周一召开的新闻发布会上表示，过去一年，生态环境领域二氧化碳排放指标、全国地表水优良水质等8项约束性指标顺利完成。

The country's progress in cutting CO2 emissions per unit of GDP met the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025) requirements. The emission reduction of four major pollutants, including oxynitride, also reached annual goals.

单位GDP二氧化碳排放指标达到“十四五”序时进度要求；氮氧化物等4项主要污染物总量减排指标顺利完成年度目标。

The share of days with good air quality in 2021 rose to 87.5%, up 0.5 percentage points from a year earlier. The PM2.5 density went down 9.1%, year-on-year, to 30 micrograms per cubic meter.

2021年，全国地级及以上城市优良天数比率为87.5%，同比上升0.5个百分点；PM2.5浓度为30微克/立方米，同比下降9.1%。

Beijing's PM2.5 density declined from 89.5 micrograms per cubic meter in 2013 to 33 micrograms in 2021, and its days of significant air pollution came down from 58 to eight.

从2013年到2021年，北京市PM2.5浓度从89.5微克/立方米下降到33微克/立方米，重污染天数从58天下降到8天。

The proportion of lakes and rivers graded Class I to III reached 84.9%.

全国地表水优良水质断面比例为84.9%。

二、“现代流通体系建设规划”公布|China Maps Plan for Building Modern Distribution System

China's top economic planner on Monday unveiled plans for a modern distribution system over the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).

国家发展改革委周一正式对外公布《“十四五”现代流通体系建设规划》。

By 2025, China expects distribution costs to decrease and for the modern distribution system to become more efficient, meaning the sector will play a significantly larger role in the economy, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). The plan will facilitate improvements to the flow of goods and resource factors; commercial and logistics facilities; domestic and international distribution networks and service systems; transportation capacity; financial support; emergency response; and green development.

《规划》提出，到2025年，商品和资源要素流动更加顺畅，商贸、物流设施更加完善，国内外流通网络和服务体系更加健全，交通承载能力和金融信用支撑能力明显增强，应急保障能力和绿色发展水平显著提升，流通成本持续下降、效率明显提高，对畅通国民经济循环的战略性作用显著提升。

The modern distribution system is projected to be completed by 2035.

到2035年，现代流通体系全面建成。

The plan outlines key tasks in six areas, including deepening market reform for modern distribution, perfecting the modern commercial distribution system, and accelerating the development of a modern logistics system.

《规划》围绕深化现代流通市场化改革、完善现代商贸流通体系、加快发展现代物流体系等6大领域，提出具体任务。

三、人民币成第四大活跃货币|RMB Becomes 4th Most Active Currency

The Chinese currency renminbi (RMB), or the yuan, climbed one position to become the fourth most active currency for global payments by value in December 2021, with a share of 2.7%, said the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), a global provider of financial messaging services.

环球银行金融电信协会（SWIFT）公布最新数据显示，去年12月，人民币在国际支付金额中的份额达到2.7%，人民币全球支付排名上升一位，升至全球第四位。

The value of RMB payments increased by 34.6% compared to November 2021, while in general all payments currencies increased by 6.44%.

从金额来看，2021年12月，人民币支付金额较11月增加了34.6%，同期全球所有货币支付金额总体增加了6.44%。

In terms of international payments, excluding payments within the Eurozone, the RMB ranked 6th, with a share of 1.91% in December 2021.

数据还显示，若以欧元区以外的国际支付作为统计口径，人民币位列第六，占比1.91%。

四、2021年我国5G手机出货量达2.66亿部| China's 5G Phone Shipments Surge in 2021

Shipments of 5G phones reached 266 million units in China last year, continuing to dominate the mobile phone market, according to data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). The volume surged by 63.5% from the previous year, accounting for 75.9% of China's total mobile phone shipments in 2021. China rolled out 227 new 5G models in 2021, up 0.9% year-on-year, said the academy, a research institute under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

In December alone, shipments of 5G phones jumped 49.2% year-on-year to 27.15 million units.

报告显示，2021年12月，国内市场5G手机出货量2715万部，同比增长49.2%。
