一、我国多举措促进内外贸一体化发展| China eyes integrated development of domestic, foreign trade

China unveiled measures to advance the integrated development of domestic and foreign trade to help bolster the home market, with domestic and international circulations progressing smoothly, said a circular issued by the General Office of the State Council.

近日，国务院办公厅印发《关于促进内外贸一体化发展的意见》，就促进内外贸一体化，形成强大国内市场，畅通国内国际双循环作出部署。

To support trade integration, the circular stressed improving laws, regulations and supervisory rules, and further aligning domestic trading rules and standards with global ones.

《意见》提出多条促进内外贸一体化发展的举措，包括：健全法律法规，完善监管体制，加强规则对接，促进标准认证衔接；

Efforts should be made to help companies, such as cross-border supply chain service providers, navigate operations in markets at home and abroad, the circular said.

支持跨国供应链服务企业等市场主体内外贸一体化经营；

Promoting integrated trade requires nurturing new business modes, such as digital development backed by modern information technology.

培育内外贸新业态新模式，充分利用现代信息技术，推动内外贸数字化发展；

Nurturing professionals with necessary skills will also be strengthened.

加强内外贸一体化专业人才培养培训等。

二、2021年全国安全生产事故总量下降9%| Workplace safety in China improves in 2021

China saw fewer workplace accidents and related deaths last year as the government stepped up efforts to ensure workplace safety, official data showed. In 2021, the number of workplace accidents in the country dropped 9% year on year, with the death toll dropping 4 percent, said the Ministry of Emergency Management, adding that no extraordinarily serious accident took place last year.

应急管理部发布的数据显示，2021年全国加大力度确保安全生产，与2020年相比，各类生产安全事故总数与死亡人数分别下降9%、4%。全年未发生特别重大事故。

A new amendment to the country's Law on Workplace Safety went into force in September last year, which stipulates heavier penalties for workplace safety violations and adds provisions concerning the new situation of workplace safety in emerging industries, including the platform economy.

去年9月，新修订的安全生产法开始施行，加大对安全生产违法行为的惩处力度。此外，针对平台经济等新兴行业出现的安全生产新情况，新修改的安全生产法也增加了相关规定。

三、上海去年实际使用外资再创新高| Shanghai's new foreign capital record

Shanghai used a record $22.55 billion in foreign capital last year, up 11.5 percent year-on-year, said Mayor Gong Zheng, at a news conference after the municipal people's congress meeting on Sunday.

上海市十五届人大六次会议1月23日闭幕，在之后举行的记者招待会上，上海市市长龚正表示，去年上海实际使用外资达到225.5亿美元、增长11.5%。

"Foreign capital is a very important guarantee of the high-quality development of Shanghai, and last year's record amount was a very strong and upbeat sign," Gong said, adding that it was achieved "thanks to our successful containment of COVID-19 and the resilience of the city".

龚正说："外资是促进上海高质量发展的重要引擎。去年我们牢牢守住了疫情防控这条底线，城市韧性得到进一步提升和体现，所以去年上海实际使用外资再创新高，呈现逆势上扬态势。"

Sixty multinational companies established regional headquarters in Shanghai last year, raising the total to 831, and the companies also set up another 25 regional research and development centers in the city, which now number 506, he said. "

龚正表示，去年上海新增跨国公司地区总部60家、累计达到831家，新增外资研发中心25家、累计达到506家。

That shows Shanghai is still the destination of choice for foreign investment and multinational companies when they plan supply chains and locate innovation centers," he said.
