A researcher from the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology, detected a small amount of the radioactive substance at the center of the Arctic Ocean, which is believed to be from the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant. It’s been almost 8 years since Cesium-134 and Cesium-137, both radioactive substances, flowed into the ocean due to the Fukushima nuclear accident in 2011. Analysis showed that some of the cesium released into the ocean and atmosphere went northward after reaching the west coast of the United States, and reached the Bering Sea along the Alaskan Peninsula.
