小锐的回答 transcript:

1）The most exciting move I had in my life sofar was back in 2009 when I freshly graduated from a master degree at Cornell and moved to a new rental unit in New York City.

2）My classmate from Cornell found this amazing two-bedroom apartment on 6th Avenue in central Manhattan. It’s located on the 19th floor of a fine high-rise building. When I visited the place for the first time, I fell in love with its spacious living room and a balcony giving us gorgeous views overlooking NYC.

3）Since my classmate found a job at Rockefeller center and I found one in the Empire State, the location could not be more perfect. We would be able towalk to our office in literally 5minutes. Well, the rent was slightly more expensive than other locations, likein Brooklyn and Queens, but I would be saving my precious time in commuting. So, I signed the lease with my new roommate without a second thought and moved in right away. 

4）The first night I was in my new home, Ifelt an overwhelming feeling of extreme happiness.I stood on the balcony for a long while, just marveling at Manhattan’s glittering skyline.The soaring skyscrapers near and far were just like my ambitions back then. I felt I was over the moon that I actually made it to finding an employment in New York City and a new home. I was on top of the world! The following days, I kept humming the pop song named “Empire State of Mind” and kept telling myself, “Now that I madeit to New York, I can make it anywhere”!
