小锐的回答 transcript:

1）I would like to share with you one time when I felt extremely proud of my mum and that was during the first spring festival we celebrated as I turned into afreshman in college.

2）I've never known a more warm-hearted person than my mum. She was the glue holding our families together by organizingall kinds of family reunion events for all major holidays.  The biggest eventfor us Chinese was spring festival and she always sawto it that all members of the family get together for that important occasion.

3）I never knew how much work it required toorganize a reunion lunch for like 100 relatives till that winter when she askedme to help her out. As I started college, she felt that I was old enough to learn behind the scenes so that she could pass down this meaningful family tradition. So, we started with booking a high-end restaurant and selecting some signature dishes from their dining options as wellas some of our family member’s favorite cuisine. And then we sent out an electronic invitation to everyone and my mum even called each individual family member just to double check they could come and whether they could prepare a talent show to entertain the crowd before the meal. Finally, she prepared all sorts of snacks, red packets for the kids, as well as personalized gifts for the elderly.

 4）So,during that reunion lunch, everybody was having a ball and they all rushed to thank my mum, how much they appreciated her efforts in holding the whole family together. She sincerely replied back that “family is everything. No amount of money or success can take the place of time spent with family”. I felt truly thankful that she shared her life values with me in this special way and that’s when I learned the love of a family is life’s greatest blessing.
