But now things are starting to turn around – I’ve been pleasantly surprised at all the help we’ve gotten from our friends and neighbors. 但现在情况开始好转了——我对我们从朋友和邻居那里得到的所有帮助感到惊喜。

I’m just immensely grateful that my wife and son are healthy, and sometimes I’m overwhelmed with emotion as I reflect on how lucky we are (when emotion is so strong that it’s difficult to think or speak). 我非常感激我的妻子和儿子都很健康，有时当我回想我们是多么幸运时，我被情感淹没了（当情绪太强烈，以至于很难思考或表达）。

Houses and Apartments (1)

I recently spent a month on vacation – but instead of staying in a hotel, I looked for a short-term rental (a place to live that can be rented for a short period of time). I ended up sharing a two-bedroom apartment – that’s an apartment with two bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen – with some friends. It was actually cheaper than renting a studio apartment (an apartment with only one big room) all by myself. 我最近花了一个月的假期，但不是住在酒店，而是寻找一个短期的租赁（一个可以租很短的时间居住的地方）。我最终和一些朋友合住一套两居室的公寓，那是一套有两间卧室、一间客厅和一间厨房的公寓。实际上，这比自己租一套工作室公寓（只有一间大房间的公寓）便宜。

The apartment was on the top floor of a five-story building (that’s a building with five floors) and it had a balcony overlooking the ocean (that means you can see the ocean from the balcony). 公寓位于一栋五层建筑的顶层（这是一栋五层的建筑），有一个俯瞰大海的阳台（这意味着你可以从阳台上看到海洋）。
