1）I guess one of the most important electronic equipment we use at home is our TV, which is an LG 46 inch and a very normal looking television my husband bought back in London. When we moved from the UK to France about four years ago, I actually asked him to sell it since we didn’t watch TV very often and it’s such a hassle to ship it internationally. But he said “no, no, I love my TV. We are keeping it.”

2）To tell you the truth, the TV was actually gathering dust in the corner for like two or three years since we moved here. Both me and my husband are kind of workaholics and we have two young kids to care for so we normally have no time for TV. And if either of us do want to watch something, we prefer to binge-watch on our own computers.

3）But then we realized we do need to make an effort to sit down together and have some chit-chat after we call it a day. So, like a year ago, we decided to watch a bit of TV together before going to bed, not just to watch something we both like, but also to create a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy each other’s company. So, these days, we were following TV series like Mandalorian and the Witcher which both of us are die hard fans. We watch one episode every night which lasts about an hour.

4）I find the TV is becoming important in our lives since it serves as a useful medium connecting me and my husband together in our hectic schedules everyday. It has prompted us to share more of our thoughts and feelings on any trivial matters. I guess this is what a good marriage is about – the constant sharing of good times and private thoughts. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t trade it for anything else.
