女:Hello guys! Welcome back! This is Dianna.
男:This is Chris. (打哈欠)
女:Chris, you look a little bit tired.
男:Yes. I had a birthday party in my house last night. After the party, I cleaned up the house till late last night.
女:That must be very tiring.
男:Luckily, my family did chores together.
女:哦?你们都参加了参与了聚会后的打扫工作?(疑问的语气)
男:That’s right. I was sweeping the floor while my mom was doing the dishes. At last, my father took out the rubbish.
女:What a warm family!
男:When we finished doing chores, a strong feeling of satisfaction fill our hearts. 你还别说,打扫完成后,真是有满满的成就感呢!
女:I think everyone in the family needs to learn to share the chores to have a clean and comfortable home.
男:That’s right.
女:刚才我们分享了Chris一家人一起做家务劳动的温馨场面。那接下来让我们走进Nancy一家吧!
男:Let’s get started!
第二部分:学海识贝
女:在听课的过程中,请大家思考:Nancy和妈妈是怎么处理做家务这个问题的?
男:So let’s keep the question in mind and turn to page 19, Section A 3a.
女:Last month, our dog welcomed me when I came home from school. 上个月当我放学回到家里时,我们家的狗狗跑来迎我。他想我溜溜他,可我太累了。
男:Could you please take the dog for a walk? Nancy刚刚坐到电视前面,Nancy的妈妈便走过来,说:“你把狗狗带出去溜溜好吗?”
女:同学们注意啦,该句中的walk为名词,散步,走。For example,go for a walk, 散步。其实,walk还可以作为动词,走,步行,溜。句中的take the dog for a walk,同义表达为,walk the dog(遛狗) 现在,大家还可以在文中找出像walk既可以做动词又可以作名词的词语吗?
男:A piece of cake!Could I watch one show first?中的show是名词,但也可以用作动词.
女:Bingo! Chris,关于show这个词你能说得更具体些吗?
男:此句中的show是名词,节目,表演。show作为动词,展示,演出。后面加双宾的结构,show sb. sth.或者show sth. to sb. For example, Could you show me your new book?你能给我看看你的新书吗?
女:其实,相同词形的词语由一个词性转变为另一个词性是英语语言中的一种常见现象,属于构词的一种方式。语法上,这种构词方式称作“转化”。
男:没错。Let’s come back to the passage.
女:Could I watch one show first? 此时Nancy累得不行了,向妈妈征询许可,我能不能先看一个电视节目?
男:“No!” she replied angrily. 妈妈很生气地拒绝了Nancy并批评Nancy成天看电视,在家从不帮忙!
女:这也难怪!Nancy’s mother works all day and does housework all evening. 她也希望自己的女儿学着分担家务。
男:I’m just as tired as you are! Nancy也抱怨起来,“我在学校也学习了一天呀!我跟你一样累!”
女:It seems that the students in western counties are as tired as we are! 看来累的不仅仅是中国学生呀!
男:是的。好了,读完这一部分,大家可能在想Nancy怎么这么不懂事,不理解妈妈呢?那么此时,妈妈会自己带狗狗出去溜溜吗?
女:In China, most of the parents will think teenagers have enough stress from school, so they will do some chores by themselves. 那我们一起朗读第二自然段,看看来自西方国家的Nancy妈妈会怎么做呢?
男:Mom did not say anything and walked away. For one week, she did not do any housework and neither didNancy. 整整一周,Nancy妈妈都没有干任何家务,当然,Nancy也没干。
女: 同学们,我们需要注意Neither did I. 这个表达用法。 这个句子的另一种表达是,I didn’t do any housework, either. 现在大家记笔记啦。表示“两者都不...”时,常用“Neither/nor +be/助/情 +主语”这种倒装结构。For example, 他不喜欢做家务,我也不喜欢。He doesn't like doing chores and neither do I.
男:另外,neither A nor B表示 既不...也不...。当连接主语时,谓语遵循就近原则。For example,上学日我和妹妹都不做家务。Neither my little sister nor I do some housework on school days.
女:嗯嗯。在上学日的时候,我其实和Nancy一样,也不怎么做家务。但Nancy和她妈妈一周都没做家务了,家里会乱成什么样呢?
男:Finally,Nancy could not find a clean dish or a clean shirt. 最后,Nancy找不出一个干净的碗或是一件干净的衬衣。
女:天啊,这家里真是in a mess,乱成一团了。Chris,你觉得妈妈和Nancy会如何解决这个问题呢?
男::I think since they live in one house, both of them should do their part in doing chores.既然大家同住一个屋檐下, 他们两个人都应当参与家务。
女:没错。Nancy后来也发现了这个道理。She did the housework at last.
男:The next day, mom came home from work to find the house clean and tidy.
女:而且,更重要的是,Nancy finally understands that she needs to share the housework to have a clean and comfortable home.
男:是呀,为了一个干净、舒适的家,我们需要和父母分担家务。此时,Nancy和妈妈之间的争吵也得到了解决。
女:我特别喜欢这个短语:“share the housework”“分担家务”。关于其他与家务有关的短语,Chris,你能列举一二吗?
男:help out around the house, do housework, help with housework.
女:Wonderful!
男:同学们~你们还记得在节目开头的那个问题吗,Nancy和妈妈是怎么处理做家务这个问题的?

男:没错。In fact, most of the teenagers don’t do housework when they come back home.事实上,大多数青少年放学回家后都会因为学业忙而不做家务。
女:Oh, I am one of them but I think I should learn from Nancy. She puts herself in her mom’s shoes.
男:Nancy puts herself in her mom’s shoes.Nancy穿着妈妈的鞋子?(疑惑的语气)
女:哈哈不是啦,put yourself in someone’s shoes是一个比较形象的短语,你联系一下上下文猜猜它的意思~
男:Oh,I got it. It means “换位思考”。
女:Exactly. 接下来我和大家分享一下这个非常有用且地道的表达——put yourself in someone’s shoes, 换位思考。For example,When others got in trouble, we should put ourselves in other people’s shoes.当别人遇到了麻烦时,我们应该换位思考。
男:Okay, I see. Dianna, what do you think of Nancy’s mom?
女:I think her mom is a little lazy and not really understanding.
男:Instead I think Nancy’s mom is clever.
女:(惊讶)Clever?
男:Yes. Nancy’ mom has taught her to be independent by doing the housework. In this way, Nancy will understand that she needs to do housework to have a clean and comfortable house. Nancy的妈妈用这种特别的方式教会她独立,培养家庭责任感。

女:还有背后的秘密?快快说来听听。
男:在古老的西方故事中,有这样两个孩子。一个名叫以扫,一个名叫雅各。哥哥以扫是个勤劳的小孩,每天与羊群和骆驼为伴,对家里平凡琐碎的事情很用心。而弟弟雅各从不屑于家务和农活,当然这跟妈妈的宠爱有很大的关系。妈妈利百加认为小儿子应该做一些“更重要”的事情,所以养成了雅各好吃懒做的习惯以及贪婪冷酷的性格。而以扫才是父亲心目中理想的继承人。
女:One can succeed by being self-reliant. 上面的故事真实演绎了“一屋不扫,何以扫天下”的哲学啊。
