Whoo, boy! That’s a difficult question. I’ve been thinking about my work-life balance a lot lately, and I think that everyone’s “perfect” work-life balance might be different.

哎呦！这个问题很难。我最近经常思考工作生活平衡，而且觉得每个人的“完美”平衡可能是不一样的。

The way I see it, everyone should think about two important questions. The first question is: why do we work? Some people work just for the money, some people work because they enjoy their job, and some people work because they find meaning in their job. I think all three of these reasons are OK - the important thing is that you’re getting what you want out of your job.

对我来说，每个人都需要思考两个重要的问题。第一：我们为什么要工作？有的人为了钱而工作，有的人为了好玩而工作，还有的人为了意义而工作。我觉得这三种原因都没有问题，关键在于你能从你的工作得到你想要的东西。

Now, the second question is more interesting: why do we have a life? Why do we have hobbies, friends, or relationships? Some people think that they must get married, but some people are fine being single. Some people want lots of friends, and some people just want a few. It doesn’t matter what kind of lifestyle you have - what matters is that it feels meaningful to you.

那么，第二个问题更重要：我们为什么要生活呢？我们为什么有爱好、朋友、情人？有些人觉得人类必须结婚，可是还有些人觉得单身也挺好的。有的人需要很多朋友在身边，有些人觉得几个朋友就够了。你具体过什么样的生活不关键；关键在于你能在你的生活中感觉到意义。

I think “meaning” is the one thing we can’t do without. Figure out what feels meaningful to you, and find a way to have more of that in your life. We can’t always choose what job we have, but we must choose what kind of meaning we are fighting for.

我觉得意义是我们唯一少不了的东西。先捋清楚那些东西对你来说是有意义的，然后找办法把这个东西在你的生活中放大。我们不一定能选择我们的工作，但我们必须选择我们在人生中要争取什么样的意义。
