Six more Chinese cities stepped into the 1-trillion-yuan GDP club in 2020. Hefei, Jinan, Nantong, Quanzhou, Fuzhou, and Xi'an all reported their GDPs exceeded 1 trillion yuan last year. 
2020年，GDP"万亿俱乐部"又添6位新成员。合肥、济南、南通、泉州、福州、西安宣布其2020年地区生产总值突破1万亿元。

It brings the total number of Chinese cities with an annual GDP over the 1-trillion-yuan benchmark to 23 so far. Eight of these cities are in China's Yangtze River Delta region. 
至此，我国全年GDP超过1万亿元的城市已有23座，其中8座位于长三角城市群。

Shanghai became the first city to hit 1 trillion yuan annual GDP on the Chinese mainland in 2006. China's GDP expanded by 2.3% year-on-year, to about 101.6 trillion yuan in 2020.
2006年，上海成为我国内地首个年度GDP破万亿的城市。2020年，我国GDP达到101.6万亿元，同比增长2.3%。

Sinovac vaccine gets approval
我国又一新冠疫苗上市

China's top drug regulator granted conditional market approval to a COVID-19 vaccine developed by domestic drugmaker Sinovac Biotech, the second candidate to receive the green light in the country. 

北京科兴中维生物技术有限公司的新冠病毒灭活疫苗近日获国家药监局批准附条件上市，这是我国获批的第二个新冠病毒疫苗。

Sinovac said in a statement released on Saturday that it filed for conditional authorization to the National Medical Products Administration on Wednesday and obtained the approval on Friday. The conditional approval is based on interim results from two months' worth of phase-three clinical trials overseas, Sinovac said. 
科兴中维2月6日发布声明称，该公司于2月3日向国家药监局提出附条件上市申请，并于2月5日正式获批，附条件上市的依据是该疫苗为期两个月的海外三期临床试验的中期数据。

The administration said on Saturday that it has instructed Sinovac to move ahead with its trials and submit new research results in a timely manner. 
国家药监局2月6日表示，要求科兴中维继续开展相关研究工作，及时提交后续研究结果。

Like the experimental vaccine developed by the State-owned Sinopharm - the first product to be approved for public use on Dec 30 - the Sinovac vaccine uses inactivated viral particles to trigger an immune response and requires two doses administered at 14 to 28 days apart.
和此前获批的国药集团新冠疫苗一样，科兴中维的疫苗也是利用被灭活后的病毒来刺激机体产生免疫反应，该疫苗的基础免疫程序也为2剂次，间隔14天至28天。国药集团新冠疫苗12月30日获批附条件上市，是我国首款上市疫苗。

Anti-trust rules on platform economy
平台经济反垄断指南发布

The State Council, China's cabinet, on Sunday unveiled anti-trust guidelines on the country's platform economy to ensure fair market competition and promote the innovative and healthy development of the sector. 
2月7日，国务院发布关于平台经济领域的反垄断指南，旨在确保市场公平竞争，促进行业创新健康发展。

To identify market dominance abuse behaviors in the sector, it is usually necessary to define the relevant market and analyze whether a platform operator has a dominant position in the market, according to the guideline. 
指南明确，认定平台经济领域滥用市场支配地位行为，通常需要先界定相关市场，分析经营者在相关市场是否具有支配地位，再根据个案情况分析是否构成滥用市场支配地位行为。

Specific case analysis should be further completed to decide whether the operator abuses its market dominance, says the guideline. Factors for determining or presuming a platform operator's dominant market position include its market share, ability to control the market, and financial and technical conditions, as well as the competition intensity and accessibility of the market, according to the guideline. 
指南详细列举了认定或者推定经营者具有市场支配地位的考量因素，包括经营者的市场份额、经营者控制市场的能力、经营者的财力和技术条件、相关市场竞争状况、市场进入难易程度等。

It also specifies behaviors that constitute abusing market dominance, such as unfair pricing, sales below cost, refusal-to-deal, restricted trading, tie-in sales, attaching unreasonable trading conditions and differential treatment.
同时，指南逐一细化滥用市场支配地位行为表现形式，如不公平价格行为、低于成本销售、拒绝交易、限定交易、搭售或者附加不合理交易条件、差别待遇等。

US sees drop in COVID-19 cases
美新冠确诊病例数下降

New COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths in the US all dropped last week, according to the COVID Tracking Project. New COVID-19 cases were down more than 16% over the previous week, and dropped below one million for the first time since the week of Nov 5. 
根据新冠病毒跟踪项目的数据，上周美国的新冠肺炎新增病例数、住院人数和死亡人数都有所下降。新冠肺炎新增病例数比前一周减少了16%以上，自11月5日开始的那一周以来首次降至100万以下。

Hospitalizations have fallen rapidly for the past two weeks. The country has recorded 84,223 people hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Saturday, down more than 40,000 from the country's peak in early January, but still three times as many as before the fall and winter case surge.
过去两周，美国新冠肺炎住院人数迅速下降。截至2月6日，美国新冠肺炎住院人数为84223人，比1月初的峰值下降4万多人，但仍是秋冬病例激增前的三倍。

COVID-19 deaths also declined. However, despite the decline, deaths remained arrestingly high - more than 21,000 were reported over the past week. More than 100,000 people in the US have died of COVID-19 since Jan 1 this year, according to Johns Hopkins University (JHU) data.
