More than 24 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in China, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Sunday.
中国疾控中心1月31日表示，我国各地新冠病毒疫苗累计接种数量已经超过2400万剂次。

Preliminary tests showed the incidence of severe abnormal reactions caused by the COVID-19 vaccines currently used in China is no higher than that of the influenza vaccine, head of the center’s National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention, said at a press conference held by the State Council joint prevention and control mechanism against COVID-19. 
中国疾控中心病毒病预防控制所所长在国务院联防联控机制新闻发布会上说，初步监测分析显示，我国新冠病毒疫苗严重异常反应报告发生率不高于流感疫苗。

Last month, an inactivated vaccine developed by Beijing Biological Products Institute Co Ltd under the China National Biotec Group, affiliated with Sinopharm, became the first to receive conditional market approval from the National Medical Products Administration.
上个月，国药集团中国生物北京生物制品研究所研发的新冠病毒灭活疫苗成为我国首个获得国家药监局批准附条件上市的新冠疫苗。

New third-generation reactor

China's first nuclear power unit using Hualong One, a domestically-designed third-generation nuclear reactor, has entered commercial operation, said the China National Nuclear Corp on Saturday. The No 5 unit in the city of Fuqing, East China's Fujian province, is generating electricity for sale after a seven-day trial run, said the CNNC. 
中核集团1月30日宣布，第一台"华龙一号"核电机组——福建福清核电5号机组已完成满功率连续运行考核，投入商业运行。

The Hualong One reactor, with all of its core components produced domestically, has a design life of 60 years and meets the strictest safety standards in the world, according to the company. 
"华龙一号"是我国自主研发的第三代核电技术，设计寿命60年，在安全性上满足国际最高安全标准要求，所有核心设备均已实现国产。

The success marks a milestone for the development of China's nuclear technology, making China the fourth country to master domestically developed third-generation nuclear technology, following the US, France and Russia. 
"华龙一号"的成功是我国核电发展史上具有里程碑意义的事件，标志着我国成为继美国、法国、俄罗斯之后第四个掌握自主三代核电技术的国家。

As many students heed the country's call to stay put during the upcoming Spring Festival to prevent COVID-19’s spread, Chinese universities are expected to see the number of students spending the holiday on campus quadruple that of previous years.
由于很多高校学生响应国家号召，在即将到来的春节期间留校过年，以防止新冠肺炎疫情蔓延，今年留校过年的学生人数跟往年相比几乎翻了两番。

Universities have been asked to carefully implement anti-virus measures, ensure students' well-being, and provide for their study and leisure needs during the holiday, said Wang Dengfeng, a senior official with the Ministry of Education, at a press conference on Sunday. 
教育部官员王登峰1月31日在新闻发布会上表示，高校要精心准备做好疫情防控、尽心尽力做好服务保障、暖心关爱做好春节慰问，满足学生假期的学习和休闲需求。

Spring Festival, also known as Chinese Lunar New Year, is an important occasion for family reunions, and falls on Feb 12 this year.

The upcoming Spring Festival holiday, typically one of the busiest movie-going weeks of the year in China, starts on Feb 11. Seven domestic productions, including "Detective Chinatown 3," are slated for release during Spring Festival, which falls on Feb 12. 
春节假期历来是国民观影的黄金周，今年的春节长假将于2月11日开启。《唐人街探案3》等7部国产影片已定档2月12日大年初一上映。

The newest installment in China's well-received "Detective Chinatown" film franchise, "Detective Chinatown 3" topped the list of most-anticipated holiday films.
由于此前《唐人街探案》系列电影收获了良好口碑，《唐人街探案3》成为2021年春节档最受期待的影片。 

The other films to be screened on the same day include the time travel comedy "Hi, Mom," the mobile game-turned fantasy film "The Yinyang Master" and "Boonie Bears: The Wild Life," the latest installment in the domestic animated comedy franchise.
