Two Shopwell Supermarket workers walked toward True Savings Bank. They carried money bags.
"Hurry up, Leo," one worker said. "Let's deposit this money. Then we'll take our lunch break."
Fwoosh!
Something flashed past the workers.
Leo gasped. "The money is gone!"

"I'm totally going to win!" Jack said.
Roxy and her friends were in Metro City Park. They were getting ready for a charity 5K race. The race was going to raise money for a homeless shelter. Runners from all over the city were there.
Roxy, Terrell, and Mara stretched. Jack just checked his phone.
"You should stretch, Jack," Roxy said.
"Nah," Jack said. "I'm fast. After this race I'm going to run a marathon!"
Mara rolled her eyes. Then she stood up and marched in place.
"What are you doing?" Jack asked.
"I'm warming up my legs," Mara said. "My uncle is a runner. He taught me this warm-up exercise. He said it's important to move your legs before a race."
Terrell got up and marched in place. Roxy did too.
Jack laughed. "You three look silly!"
A voice came over a loudspeaker. "Runners! The race is about to begin!"
All the racers headed toward the starting line.
"Good luck, everyone!" Roxy said.
A volunteer fired the starting gun.
Bang!
The race began.
Jack ran fast. Soon he was far ahead of his friends. But then he slowed down. Roxy, Terrell, and Mara caught up to him.
Jack was breathing hard. "Is the race . . . almost . . . over?"
Mara smiled. "You need to pace yourself, Jack. If you run too fast, you'll get tired quickly. Then you definitely won't win."
Jack groaned as Mara ran ahead of him.
Terrell smiled. "I know who could easily win this race!"
Roxy laughed. "Rocket Girl has more important things to do, Terrell. But you're right. She could easily win this race!"
The two friends laughed.
Roxy's watch beeped. She moved over to the side. Runners ran past her. She pretended to tie her shoe.
"Mayor Bloom?" Roxy whispered. "What's wrong?"
Mayor Bloom scratched his head. "I'm not sure, Rocket Girl. The police got a lot of calls this morning. Money and other items seem to be vanishing."
"Are people getting robbed?" Roxy asked.
Mayor Bloom shrugged. "Nobody knows. I need you to go to Gem's Jewelry. The owner just called. She said all of her jewelry suddenly disappeared."
"Okay, Mayor," Roxy said. "I'm on my way!"
