Pig or witch?
A man is driving up a steep, narrow mountain road. A woman is driving down the same road.
As they pass each other, the woman leans out of the window and yells "pig!!"
The man immediately leans out of his window and replies, "witch!!"
They each continue on their way, and as the man rounds the next corner, he crashes into a pig in the middle of the road.
if only the man would listen.

一个男人在一条陡峭狭窄的山路上驾车，一个女人相向驾车而来。
他们相遇时，那个女的从窗中伸出头来叫到：“猪！！”
那个男的立即从窗中伸出头来回敬道：“女巫！！”
他们继续前行。这个男的在下一个路口转弯时，撞上了路中间的一头猪。
要是这个男的能听懂那个女人的意思就好了。

知识梳理:

1. 现在进行时：is/am/are +doing 表示此时此刻正在发生的事或目前一个阶段正在发生的事。
I’m peaking and you are listening.
She is reading a novel by Mo Yan these days.
2. up 向上，down向下。up有由远及近、由下游向上游，由下向上的意思；而down则正好相反。
Tracks led up the mountainside.
We took turns in rowing the boat up the river.
He was coming down the road。
3. the same --- same的前面往往要加上定冠词the。
Our children go to the same school .
They both said much the same thing.
4.as时间状语从句，表示当---时候。
As he got closer, he found another car upside down on the road.
As I got closer, I found they were only discussing how to raise money for the trip.
5.lean v. 倾斜;倚靠
The tree leans toward the house.
The fence is leaning too much to the right.
6.yell v.n.叫喊;大喊;吼叫;(为运动队加油的)呐喊，欢呼
She yelled at the child to get down from the wall.
‘Be careful!’， he yelled.
7.immediately[ɪˈmiːdɪətlɪ]立即；直接地
8.witch[wɪtʃ]巫婆，女巫
9.each各自，各个，每个 ，做they的同位语。同位语是对前面的名词或代词其解释说明作用的成分。
His jokes made us all laugh.
They each signed the paper.
He told me that his brother John is a world-famous doctor. 他告诉我他的兄长约翰是一位世界闻名的医生。
10.as the man rounds the next corner. As仍然是引导了一个时间状语从句，表示当---时候。
11.round v.绕过;绕行;绕道
The house disappeared from sight as we rounded a corner.
12.crash into撞上，坠毁
She noticed a car crash into a big tree nearby.
The aircraft has no choice but to crash into the sea.
13.if only要是…就好了 经常与过去时连用，表示一个虚假的情景。
If only I knew her name.
If only I could get some more sleep.
